"What's wrong?" I asked Clay for the hundredth time since being back from my parents. He just shook his head and continued watching T.V.. I sighed and walked out. "You know they don't deserve to have you as a daughter." I heard his voice after me. I walked back to the living room door. "What did you say?" He turned to look at me for the first time since getting home. "They don't deserve you." I shook my head. "Clay...they're not bad people. They made one mistake..." But he cut me off before I could finish. "They don't think this is their fault. They want to pretend like this didn't happen. They want to forget what they did to you and forget all about Rachel." I looked at him in disbelief. "They...what?" He just sighed and nodded his head. I let a single tear slide down my cheek. Clay got up and wrapped his arms around me. I stood there for a few minutes before I moved away from him. "I've got to go. I can't do this to you. I'm sorry." He came over to me. "Elana wait. I don't care about what Jim does..I don't care about.." But I cut him off "I won't let you lose your job over me. I won't let you risk everything for this." I said while grabbing my phone to text Margret. I grabbed my school bag and clothes and got in my car and went over to Margret's for the night.

When I pulled up Margret was standing in the door waiting for me. She pulled me into her arms while I cried and attempted to tell what's going on. "And I can't get him in trouble. Not for me." Margret just nodded. I sighed as I sat on her bed. "Am I making the right choice Mar?" She sighed. "I don't know. I know it's illegal and I know you don't want to get him in trouble, but you don't remember how it used to be. He was crazy about you and everybody knew it. He always was and always will be. But it's your choice." I groaned. "That's the problem. I do love him."
