Spoiler Alert: Before I start, remember this arc has not been covered in the anime or the manga yet, it is a prelude to the events of High School Dxd, 500 years before our Main character Issei Hyoudou became a devil, so if you do not want to get spoiled, then do not read, otherwise go ahead, this arc has been covered in the Light novels

Devil Civil War:

The arc that truly started everything, the one that changed the society of the underworld forever, back when there was a desire for peace, there was a desire for war, for change. In the canon universe, Sirzechs Gremory and his friends managed to defeat the original satans who desired war over anything else, they believed in royalty over talent as well as they ruined their relations with the 72 pillars due to the narcissitic nature. The rebels lead by Sirzechs, Serafall, Ajuka, Grayfia and Falbium managed to defeat the Original satans thus becoming the new satans therefore ushering a generations of peace and happiness. But what if I told you in another universe, a dark one, where things happen with a darker beginning not only were the civilians killed during an onslaught, but Grayfia's relation with Sirzechs was revealed much earlier, which results in her execution where she was brutally tortured and finally killed, this drives the once kind hearted devil who wanted the better for his people into darkness and vengence. What will happen to the underworld and it's leaders when this satan when they deal with this dark and vengeful alternate of Sirzechs Gremory
