Nari's POV

I wasn't able to sleep since last night because of what happened to my dad. It kept me awake all-night long although this has happened so many times.

I just wish it would stop.

All those horrible threats, assassination attempts and deceitful schemes.

However, I do know my dad is partly a push-factor to putting himself in danger. I don't know what is going on within him and his acquaintances, but all I know it's all illegal, tricky and dirty business involving lots of bribery.

I won't even deny the fact that he's a corrupt lawyer.

An obvious breaker of the code of ethics.

And I will make sure that I won't take up after him.

I made my way to the bathroom where I was greeted by my reflection. Bags under my eyes, pale skin, and my dry, messy, long black hair were noticeable. Not only I got stress because of all the readings I have to do for school, but also because of my dad.

I began to brush my teeth and shower. I've only got a half an hour to do my hair and make-up since I want to cover up how stressed I am right now. I decided to just make it quick.

I put on my long sleeves, wide pants, paired with a suit jacket and sandals. I grabbed my bag and my binder, filled with important files that I have to review later for a test.

I made my way out of my condo unit which was on the ground floor. Thank goodness, I live on this floor which means going out is just a piece of cake since I don't have to take the stairs nor elevator. I walked through the busy streets of the city until I finally made it to the campus.

The campus is just a few walks from my unit which is absolutely great.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, so I took it out to check.

Mingyu:
Where are u?

Me:
Campus.

Mingyu:
Do you want coffee? I stopped by at Twinnie's.

Me:
Yeah, sure! Meet me at the library.

I made my way to the library as soon as I entered the campus, and when I entered, there were already a few students. Documents, books and their laptops laid out on their tables as they focus on reading and writing.

I sat at my usual spot which was by the corner of the library. I sat, my back facing the shelves since I know Mingyu likes to get the opposite spot where he can lean on the wall.

I began doing my readings. I've already highlighted the important parts and all I have to do is to re-read in order to test myself whether I maintained what I've read or not. I plugged in my earphones and commenced while waiting for my friend.

A few flip of the pages when I felt something covered my eyes and a hand plug out my earphones from my ear. "Guess who?" A familiar voice spoke, along with a grin.

"Stop being silly, Mingyu," I said as I took off his hand and shot him a playful glare.

"All right, don't get mad, missy. Here's your coffee," he handed me the iced coffee as he sat in front of me with his stuffs.

"So, how's your dad?" He asked as I diverted my focus back on my book that leaned against the reading stand. I stifled a sigh as I flipped another page.
