Nari's POV
"...Two men have been found dead inside a warehouse, along with a note saying 'Let this be a warning' although it's still under investigation, police assumes that this is a gang activity since the two men are likely to be part of a triad due to identical tattoos found on their arms..."
I sat on the hospital bed, diverting my gaze at Seungcheol who leaned on the wall, casually scrolling through his phone. He looked back at me and I gave him a look. "I had nothing to do with that,"
"I didn't ask nor spoke about it" I responded.
"Why'd you answer like that, then?" I asked, as I quirked an eyebrow. He chuckled before responding.
"Because your eyes say so, little red. The eyes," he reiterated, pointing at his own eyes. I rolled my eyes in response to that.
"That's not enough reason," I muttered under my breath.
The so-called small taints of 'ketchup' yesterday on his shirt is not ketchup at all. I just let him slide last night because I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.
"What'd you say?"
"Nothing,"
Seungcheol's POV
Since yesterday, Nari has been giving everyone an attitude and a cold shoulder which is understandable since she just went through so much without any notice and it must've been traumatizing and stressing for her.
I feel bad for her because I can see through her. She is acting tough, firm and all-stingy, but I know that she's just in pain which she is hiding. I went through the same coping mechanism when my father died.
Nonetheless, mine was worse because as soon as I inherited my father's position. I ordered the mass execution of all the people who plotted against my father.
All my trusted men were there to witness my wrath, excluding the three spies I have right now.
"Are we ready to go now?" I asked as I peeked through the rearview mirror where I saw Nari, in the backseat. She crossed her legs, diverting her attention towards the window.
"Obviously," I mentally sigh upon hearing her sarcastic tone. I started the engine and began driving away.
As I know, Nari and her father still haven't made up due to the fact that they just had a fight last night. That must be one of the push-factors on why she's like this today.
Nari's POV
My father informed the school about what happened, they're giving me days to rest, but I refuse to because I feel like if I do that, I might not be able to catch up on my studies which would be a troublesome because the bar exam's near.
I can't just take a break now.
I'll have to endure this.
"Hey," I diverted my gaze from the window, to the door that was ajar where I saw Wonwoo. He stood by the door, leaning by its frame.
"You okay? How are you holding up?" He asked as I slightly turned my seat to his position.
"I'm fine, I guess," He smiled as he sat on the edge of my bed, gripping the edges with his hands.
