Narrator's POV
"Anything suspicious?" Seungcheol asked through the phone as he hopped inside his car.
"He went home pretty late,"
"Ah, he was with me earlier and at the hospital because of Nari," the man from the other line, cooed, nodding his head in understandment.
"But still keep a keen eye, and do not hesitate to report every activity,"
"Affirmative, sir," As soon as the call ended, Seungcheol stifle a sigh as he shoved his phone to his pocket. He thought to himself if it's even worth it to make his men, keep an eye on Hyunsuk.
Say...would this be a waste of time or what? - he asked himself.
He connected his phone to the speakers of his car and started the engine. As soon as he drove away, he dialed the number of one of the spies he trusted. "Hello?" a gentle voice spoke.
"How are the three of you?"
"We're fine, it wasn't that hard to keep up a cover,"
"Good to hear, are you making friends? you better gain everyone's trust there, Vernon," Seungcheol remarked.
"Yeah of course, Seungkwan's doing the most of the talking," Vernon chuckled.
"And Chan, how's he doing?"
"Oh well, he's pretty good at keeping up a naive newbie facade," Seungcheol smirked.

As soon as Seungcheol reached his home, he was immediately greeted by the two; Jeonghan and Joshua, in pair again. Seungcheol mentally sighed, knowing that there must be something urgent again since they appeared at the same time.
"I heard through the vine that you killed a man," Jeonghan raised an eyebrow as he crossed his arms.
"And you have a scheduled meeting with the minister of justice?"
"Yeah, so what's that to you?" Seungcheol casually asked as he took off his coat and placed it on the rack. The taints of red, splattered all over his shirt is what even made Jeonghan, stunned.
"You really went out there and killed somebody in an impulsive manner? Seungcheol, I'm not speaking to you as your lowly underling, but as your strategist and friend,"
"We've laying low because we plan our murders so fucking--"
"--Carefully...and perfect," Seungcheol cut him off as he diverted his gaze at Joshua, who just stood there, arms crossed while he leaned against the wall.
I knew this guy would tell Jeonghan. These two have always teamed up against me which happens almost always. I won't deny the fact that there were times they were right, but they should hear me out, too. - he thought to himself.
"Say, did Mr. Jung even asked you to kill--"
"No, but he was glad that I did," Jeonghan facepalmed.
"Yes, Nari was abducted. Yes, the stunt they pulled was bold and ridiculous--but why?! Seungcheol, why--" Jeonghan was mad as he walked around the foyer, throwing gestures with his hands before pushing back his hair with both of his hands.
"Godamnit, I thought you said that we shouldn't commit a murder so impulsively, yet here you are--" Seungcheol raised his palm.
"Just for this mission, I am permitting the act of extermination, impulsive or not," Jeonghan furrowed his eyebrows upon the smug tone of Seungcheol.
"Seungcheol, do you even hear what you're saying?! This is pure anarchy!" he exclaimed, raising his arms in the air while Seungcheol turns around, rolling his eyes.
"Hey, we're not done yet!"
"Let's talk about this another time,"
***
Seungcheol knew what will happen if he were to permit murder, freely, to his men. He knew that it'd be pure bloodshed, but he plans to take back what he said and put some rules and boundaries about it. However, the man was too busy, thinking about the death of Nari's mother.
3:04 AM
Seungcheol took off his shirt, revealing toned body as he steps into the shower. As soon he turned on the shower, the warm water hit his body, cleaning the red stains which flowed down to the floor of the bathroom.
He stepped out of the shower and put on some clothes not until he heard his burner phone rang in his bedroom. He immediately grabbed it, answering it without even looking at the contact's name. "Hello?"
"Sir, I think you need to see this,"
***
Seungcheol did oblige, so he went to the location that was texted to him. He wore all-black in order to disguise himself and be unnoticeable. "What is it?" He asked as he hopped inside the car where his two men, sat.
They parked at an alleyway, close enough to monitor a house nearby. "Mr. Jung have entered the premises and I saw the man that you told me to find," Daejung, who sat on the driver's seat, handed his boss a picture of an old man.
"Correct us if we're wrong, he's the retired prosecutor who handled the late wife of Mr. Jung," Hwanki, who sat in the backseat, said.
Seungcheol held the photo in his hand before diverting his eyes from the house, to Daejung. "What'd they look like when they interacted?"
"They seem real good friends, and it appears to me that,"
"They are really good friends since Mr. Jung gifted him two hectares of land and a sports car on November 3, 2014," Daejung handed another picture which shows the old prosecutor, enjoying a rural life by the land he was gifted, as he leaned against the sports car.
Seungcheol furrowed his eyes brows and thought - A bribe, huh.
It was around July 2014 when Nari's mother passed away, and it's four months before the prosecutor received those luxuries. "Have you found some files, indicating that he really did gift him?" Seungcheol asked as Daejung, slowly shook his head.
"But it's pretty obvious it was a gift from Hyunsuk. I mean, the old man's a prosecutor and a prosecutor's yearly salary isn't enough to afford a land nor a sports car,"
"Yes, I know that Hwanki, but we need concrete proof like a file or something,"
"Okay, so what do we do?" Daejung asked.
"I'll be needing the two of you to go undercover, get some files that is important--I'll discuss about this next time, I need some more time to strategize," Seungcheol handed back the photos.
"For now, just keep an eye on him," he said, before hopping out.
Looks like there are tons of puzzle pieces missing and must be put together because I can't just rely on my assumptions and theories. - he thought to himself.
