48: Tinge of Jealousy

Narrator's POV

  It's a long night full of joy, fun and catching up with friends. Junhui and Wonwoo ended up catching up with their classmates. Talking about how each of them have finally graduated, got the career they love and got their family.

   Meanwhile, Seungcheol ended up talking to his childhood lover, catching up on things like career and how life has been treating them. On the other hand, Nari sat on the bar stool in a gloomy state while drinking her nth shot of tequila. She's the only person in the room that is emanating a negative, dark aura due to her mood.

   She stared off at the distance where she can see Seungcheol and Shinji, shooting both of them a piercing, ice-cold glare. She felt that she had been defeated and that it was a big mistake to come here in the first place.

   That Shinji sweetheart of his is already here, what else am I supposed to do now? - she thought to herself as she continued drinking.

   Oh, it's going to be a long night. - she thought.

   For the whole time, Nari just stayed by the mini bar, drinking whilst Junhui and Wonwoo would go around to socialize with others. The party was full of fun things to offer like performances and story-telling about the past to reminisce and laugh off.

   However, Nari is the only one who felt that this night...was a crucial one.

   Soon, the four of them went home. Junhui and Nari are drunk to the point that Junhui kept saying random slurs while Nari became quiet and just kept on stumbling as she made her way to the mansion. Wonwoo's a bit tipsy, but is trying to sober up as he didn't want to set a bad example to his daughter when he comes home, while Seungcheol is still a bit intoxicated from all the mixed cocktails.

   "Dad!" As soon as they entered the foyer, Woyeon ran up to Wonwoo who knelt down to her level.

   "Oh hey, you're still awake," Wonwoo held her in his arms as he gave Soonyoung and Jihoon a look.

   The two looked as if they went to a traumatizing event, as they have paint all over their face and fake toy jewelries around their neckline and wrists. "Wonwoo, your child's a good girl, but...she's just way too hyper," Jihoon whined.

   "She was quite tough to babysit — I mean, look!" Soonyoung groaned as he pointed at the paint all over his face and clothes.

    Wonwoo smiled sheepishly. "It's just one night guys. Sorry," he turned towards his daughter.

   "Woyeon, why don't we go clean up the mess you made in the living room? uncle Soonyoung and Jihoon are already tired and so am I. You wouldn't mind giving a hand, would you?"

   "I wouldn't mind!" and so, the two went to the living room to clean up.

   "Gosh, I need to wash this off," Jihoon whined.

   "Me too," Soonyoung agreed.

   "What a party, am I right?" Seungcheol tried to make a small conversation with Nari. He turned towards her with a smile, but instead she just shot him a glare.

   Nari had past by him and went to the living room where she sat down. Seungcheol did follow along with Junhui who plopped down on the other sofa that was near the fireplace. "What's the problem, Nari," Seungcheol asked.
