Part 3

It had been a couple weeks and the space mission was planned and set. The cosmic energy cloud was coming and it was time for them to go. We were all out as a farewell at a bar and I sighed sitting alone at the bar.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Sue asked walking up to her and sitting next to her.

"I wish it wasn't you guys going." I said and she sighed.
"We are the only one who can run the experiment Gracie." She said and I nodded.

"I know...doesn't mean I have to like it Sue." I said and she smiled.

"I know but we will only be gone a couple days and then Reed and I will be back in the apartment being the annoying couple we always were." Sue said and we both laughed.
"Oh joy, I had forgot about that annoying couple while you have been busy working." I said and we laughed again. Reed and Ben came walking over.

"You ladies ready to go home? We should really get a good nights sleep." Reed said. Sue and I nodded.

"Where is Johnny?" I asked not seeing him.

"Meeting us outside." Reed said and I looked at him confused.

"Not going home with some chick?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Nope, said he wants to stay with us tonight." Reed said and I shook my head knowing Ben was staying at our place too for the night since it was going to be an early start the next morning. Once we got outside I saw Johnny waiting. We all walked back to the apartment and Sue and Reed were walking together, Ben wanting to walk alone since he was in his own thoughts because he was the one doing the space walk once up there so that left Johnny and I to walk together.

"You nervous?" I finally asked breaking our silence.

"I'm an expert pilot." Johnny said and I rolled my eyes.

"But yes I am nervous." He continued.

"Johnny can you promise me something?" I questioned.

"I can't make many promises Cece, you know that." Johnny said and I huffed a laugh.

"I know but can you just promise me that if something goes wrong you get all of you out of there as fast as possible. I cant take it if any of you would get hurt...or worse." I said and looked at him as we walked.

"Even me?" Johnny said and I groaned.

"Yes, even you." I said and he smiled.

"I will do whatever I can Cece, I promise." Johnny said and I smiled at him. We arrived back to the apartment. Reed and Sue headed to their room after telling us all good night and Ben headed to his room after giving me a hug. Johnny and I headed in the same direction and I knew the room he was staying in was next to mine, we arrived at my door first.

"Good night Cece." Johnny said and I smirked while shaking my head.

"You know I still hate that nickname." I said and he smiled.

"Which is why I do it." Johnny said and I smiled. I looked at Johnny and sighed.

"Okay I need you not to move for a second." I said and Johnny looked at me oddly but sighed.

"Okay fine..." Johnny said. I took a deep breath, leaned in on my tip toes and kissed his cheek. Johnny looked at me shocked.

"Don't read into it too much Johnny, it was for good luck and safety." I said and he smiled. I could have sworn I saw a little blush on his cheeks. Johnny looked into my eyes and I saw him leaning in towards me, and I knew exactly what he was thinking. I placed a hand on my door handle.
