It had been 2 months and I had finished and graduated from school. I was just taking some time off and enjoying the freedom. I hadn't talked to Johnny since I left his apartment that night and I had to admit I did miss him. He had been trying to call and text me as well as even showing up to Alicia's. I was sitting on my bed when Alicia came down the basement steps.
"You ready to go?" Alicia asked and I groaned.
"I didn't want this party." I said and sighed.
"Get over it." Alicia said.
"Fine. Let's go." I said knowing not to argue with her. I stood up and checked out my outfit in the mirror and I was in a hot pink sequined one shoulder dress the tied up the middle on the strap in the back. I put my hair up in a high ponytail and curled it. I just wanted to get this night over with. Once Alicia and I arrived at Reed and Sue's apartment the party was in full swing and I noticed a lot of people. Some I knew and some I didn't. Some classmates and co-workers. I saw a lot of military people and I knew Reed was using this as a work party too and I groaned. Once I walked in and Reed saw me he smiled.
"There she is! The graduate!" Reed yelled and everyone looked and applauded. I smiled as Sue walked over and handed me a drink as Ben came and got Alicia. I looked around and I didn't see Johnny. I
"Speech!" Reed said and I groaned and walked over to where he was and I glared at him.
"I really don't know what to say except thanks for coming." I said and smiled. Everyone smiled and went back to the party. I was talking to some co-workers when Reed came up to me.
"There is someone I want you to meet." Reed said and walked me over to a guy standing there in a Generals outfit.
"Grace this is General Hager." Reed said and I shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you." I said knowing Reed had been working with him.
"The pleasure is all mine. Reed has been talking about you none stop and I must saw we are impressed." He said and I looked around.
"We?" I asked.
"The Military." Hager said.
"Oh." I said.
"We were wanting to offer you a job. You would be working with Reed and Sue." Hager said and I had kind known what they did and I sighed.
"I don't know....I love being a nurse." I said and Hager nodded."Well the offer stands and if you ever change your mind. I think a brain like yours will be a great addition to our team." Hager said and I nodded.
"I will think about it. Thank you." I said and he nodded and walked away. I looked at Reed.
"What is that all about?" I asked and he shrugged.
"He asked to meet you, I had no clue." Reed said and I groaned and went to walk away.
"You okay?" Reed asked.
"Just rushing to finish school is catching up with me I guess. I am going to go get some fresh air." I said and headed out to the balcony. As I was leaning on the railing finally alone I took a deep breath."Hey, isn't this your party? Why are you hiding out here?" I heard a voice say and I turned around to see Johnny standing there.
"Didn't want the party to begin with. I just graduated college. Did it once, not a big accomplishment again." I said and turned back to face the city.
"Cece..." Johnny said and I shook my head.
"Don't Johnny." I said and he sighed.
"Let me explain." Johnny said and I huffed a laugh.
"Explain?! Explain what Johnny?! How you were sleeping with someone else because I wouldn't sleep with you?!" I said turning to look at him and he shook his head looking at the ground.
