Part 20

I had been living at Alicia's place for 2 weeks and everything was going great. No one but Johnny knew and I was so happy to keep it that way. We had been out a couple times and things were getting serious. I was sitting getting ready to go out when I heard the front door open upstairs. I knew Ben was coming over to get Alicia to go out and I also knew to stay in the basement until they were gone. As I was putting on my shoes I heard Alicia at the top of the basement steps.

"Hey, come up here." I heard her say and I was confused. I walked into the living room and saw Ben and Johnny both standing there and groaned.

"So not only do you live with Alicia and she has been keeping it from me but you and Johnny are hanging out too?" Ben asked a little upset.

"Okay don't hold Alicia not tell you against her...-" I started to say.

"Oh no! That's all you, I know it." Ben said and I groaned.

"Yeah it was and Johnny and I just aren't hanging out...." I said as he walked over to me and kissed my cheek. Ben groaned.

"What's going on?" Alicia asked not having a clue.

"Me and Johnny are together." I said and she smiled.

"So it happened? You two got together?" Ben asked and we nodded.

"When?" Ben asked.

"About 3 weeks ago. The night Reed and Sue were out of town was our first date." I said and Ben sighed.

"You know what you are getting yourself into with him Gracie?" Ben asked and Alicia smacked his chest.

"Ben, do you trust me to make my own choices?" I asked and he nodded with a slight smile.

"Perfect, didn't want to lose you too." I said and Johnny sighed.

"I did want to talk to you about that. You haven't gone to see your brother or called him since you moved. Don't you think it's time?" Johnny asked and I shook my head.

"Nope. I let him know when I moved in that I found somewhere safe and that was all he needed to know." I said and Johnny sighed looking at Ben.

"Either you tell him or we do Gracie." Ben said and I groaned.

"I'll think about it. I have to tell him about school anyways." I said and everyone looked at me shocked.

"What's going on with school?" Johnny asked.

"Well since I moved out I stepped back on hours at the hospital, I just wanted to be done with school. I have been working ahead and completing assignments left and right and I will be graduating with my degree in 2 months." I said and everyone got excited. Johnny picked me up and spun me around. Then I hugged Ben and Alicia.

"Let's all go out and celebrate." Johnny said and I looked at Ben.

"Double date?" I asked and he smiled.

"Yeah, sounds good. We were just going out to the bar." Ben said and I smiled.

"Us too." I said and we all headed out for a night out together.

The next night I sighed and walked to the door of Reed's apartment and knocked. When the door opened and I looked at saw Reed's arm retracting to his body and I saw him working in the lab right off the living room.

"How did you know I wasn't someone here to kill you?" I asked as I got to the lab.

"Camera at the door go installed 2 days ago, I saw you." Reed said. He didn't look up from his work but Sue came running over and hugged me.
