Part 16

A couple days after the wedding I was sitting in an empty apartment since Reed and Sue were on their honeymoon, Ben was staying with Alicia and I was assuming Johnny when back to his apartment. As I sat doing some homework my cellphone rang.

"Hello?" I asked answering my phone.

"Hey, it's Connor." He said and I smiled.
"Hey." I said smiling.

"Hey, listen I am nervous to ask this so forgive me for blurting it out but, would you like to get dinner with me tonight?" Connor asked and I smiled shaking my head his nervousness.

"I would love to." I said and he smiled.

"Really?" Connor asked.

"Of course." I said and I could tell he was smiling.

"Okay perfect. Um...how does 7 sound?" Connor said.

"Perfect, should we meet somewhere?" I asked.
"I would love to pick you up." Connor said.

"Perfect, just come to the Baxter Building and have the door man call up for me." I said.

"Sounds great, see you at 7." Connor said.

"See you then." I said and hung up. I stood up and rushed to my room to find an outfit to wear. He never said where we were going so I decided to text him.

>Hey where are we going tonight? I would love to dress accordingly.< I sent off.

>Dinner out, nice restaurant. Is that okay?< Connor asked.

>It's fine.< I sent off.

I then started looking through my closet, I hated not having Sue here for an opinion or to get info on Connor, I forgot to ask her at the reception. I pulled out a dress I never thought I would have a chance to wear. It was red and hit mid-thigh, halter neckline but the straps crossed in the back, ruched body and form fitting. I knew it would be perfect for tonight. Once I planned out my hair and make-up I knew I was ready for this. I needed to move and stop holding out for a man who was never going to love me. I went down to the main level to pick up the mail from the box and I stopped to see the doorman.

"Hey Kenny." I said and he smiled.

"Ms. Richards." He said and smiled as I approached where he was sitting.

"I will be having someone pick me up for a date here around 7 tonight. Don't let him come up, just call me when he gets here." I said and he nodded.

"Yes ma'am." He said and I smiled at him and went to walk away.

"It is Mr. Storm?" Johnny asked and I knew he liked Johnny.

"No, Mr. Storm and I aren't together." I said and got on the elevator. Once I got upstairs the day passed slowly and I finally got dressed and ready to go. I paired the dress with some black strappy heels knowing Connor was tall enough I could. I was pacing waiting for the buzzer to go with a call from Kenny. Finally it did and I smiled.

"Yes?" I answered trying not to sound too excited.

"Mr. Haskins is here Miss Richards." Kenny said.

"I will be right down." I said and grabbed my jacket and headed out of the apartment and down to the lobby. Once I stepped off the elevator I smiled when I saw Connor standing there with a bouquet of mixed flowers.
"Hey." I said and he seemed to be speechless seeing me. He was in a black suit with a white shirt and black tie. He looked so nice.

"These are for you." Connor said and I smiled as he kissed my cheek. As we went to walk out he grabbed my hand and I saw someone walk in and I was in shock.
