Fairytale: Gingerbread man - the muffin man is her father (or is he?)
Backstory:
Eleanor (Daphne's mother) was a princess, betrothed to marry as she was a princess and her parents wanted riches and land. She "fell in love" with the castle's personal baker George Moony. Unfortunately Eleanor died giving birth to the illegitimate child. George was shunned out of the kitchen with Daphne. He opened up a bakery and when he made the magical Gingerbread man, he went mad trying to convince people Gingie was real. Added on with the sorrow of the loss of his wife, he was known as the town drunk fool. Leaving the bakery for his daughter Daphne to run. Unfortunately the reasoning to his drunken ways, isn't just because of Gingie but because he found out, by the Gingerbread man, that Daphne wasn't his child, his love had tricked him into sex, and made him believe that this child was his. So rumpelstilskin wouldn't take her away but he would.
At a Spring festival run by the village, the prince came to see the festival with his father. George, knowing the truth, wanted to get rid of her, he tried to match up his daughter with the prince, they weren't peasants and famine struken, but they didn't have title and filthy rich, just above middle class but no where near wealthy. He tried talking about her gift of cooking, but it was to no avail, so he lied, saying she could spin gold from straw.
The king was hesitant at first but was reminded about cora, the miller's daughter that spun gold. He met Daphne and realised it was his granddaughter. He then changed the deal, instead of the hand of his son which would of been Daphnes uncle, give her, her title back.
Daphne sat in the tower until she saw rumpelstilskin appear. She was hesitate but agree in letting him help her learn how to spin straw to gold, she connection she didn'tunderstand. And to try and see him more she asked to learn magic.
And now in storybroke she runs a bakery with her alcoholic adopted father and doesn't remember her actual father rumpelstilskin
