Chapter 53 - Soft
Angel's POV
Silence blanketed the air and the tension stiffen, maybe if someone else was in my place they would feel suffocated by the glowing eyes staring at me with disbelief and disappointment.
Her eyes clouded, carefully forming her next words in her mind before her lips parted with hesitation. "Even though you're connected to the dark realm, you're connected to the light realm too. Your wolf is-"
"Are you sure?"
"I- "
"You'll have a meeting about the missing children in a few days, right? The children are held in Underground Ring passed the Whispering Woods." The Moon Goddess paused before slowly nodding, abruptly her brows furrowed.
"Angel?"
"Yes?"
"How is it that you lost?" Her expression was tensed with incredulity, a frown laid on her lips.
Silence settled once more.
"Actually, I didn't fight him. I immediately reversed time when I saw the kids died." I paused for a moment. "Something is not right about him. Clearly, he's a dark creature yet he doesn't seem to be restrained by the light realm's restriction on the creatures of the dark."
The Moon Goddess thought for a moment before her eyes lit up in realization. Her face usually had the same boring smile but her eyes have always been rather expressive. "That should be the human experiment."
I rolled my eyes, of course, this was about a human experiment experience. Those fragile mortals do have a nack at playing creator yet they always seem to make things that have a high potential of eliminating them.
"Though he kill the science team and destroyed the lab. Due to the fact that he's man-made supernatural, the restrictions don't apply to him." She explained. "You should tread with caution, although you're powerful you have very high restraints while he has none. You'll be at a disadvantage."
I rolled my eyes, summoning a flame. "I am quite aware of my restraints." The flame glowed brightly, glancing gracefully with intense heat. Abruptly, it dispersed like it was only an illusion. I closed my empty hand and returned it to my side, how I longed for the day I can once again release my flames in its burning glory.
She deadpanned, "Please that's not the only thing you can do."
"But I know nothing about his abilities."
"He can manipulate dark matter, it's corrosive to touch and he can control the change it forms."
"Manipulate its form too. That advance?" Having an ability was one thing but to be proficient enough to change its form was another matter. "How well can he control its form?"
"He has no disadvantage in close combat; he can form most close combat weapon. He can also do shields, dooms and cages."
"Thanks. When will you attack their base?"
"In two days."
"I'll take an hour headstart when the time comes. I'll bring you along." I glanced at the two hellhounds disguised as abnormally large dogs. I found it odd that no one had questioned it up to now.
I want to taste the thrill of blood on my hands. What a sudden thought.
"You're smiling so brightly all of a sudden." The Moon Goddess studied my face closely. I'm smiling? I didn't notice. I tried to tuck it away but efforts were futile. "Who do you plan to kill?"
