Chapter 52 - Darkside

Angel's POV

The wind whistled softly as I entered the building our pets are kept in, it was moderately small, for unsurprisingly not many had pets. Walking down the empty corridor, doors looming on each side with the owner's name on each. Eventually, I stopped at the door with my name hanging firmly on the tall secure wood. Entering the code, the door opened smoothly allowing my entrance.

Two pairs of ears perked up when the door closed behind me, the gigantic beasts stood up from their sleep excitedly. Tails wagging estaticly as they burst forth towards me, however, they skid to a halt with a cautious distance between us.

The air stood still, piercing eyes wandered the length of my leisure pose, not a sound was made and we were enclosed in a silent stare-off. "Relax. Is Beser alive?"

Silence. Naturally, my brow raised at the two beasts standing at my height. "I dislike repeating myself."

I stated plainly, staring intently into their eyes, challenging them. "Yes, your highness." Their voice sounded hoarse from lack of use.

"Mother returned to the dark realm to recover when she was 'killed' by the Alpha pup and so did our siblings."

"Can you contact home from here?" I took a seat, gazing out the window expressionlessly.

"Yes, our collar as a magic stone embedded in it that allows us to communicate with the mother stone in mother's collar."

I pondered over her words silently, "Moon Goddess." I summoned softly.

She appeared with an amiable smile before it slipped off her serene face, "The seal's broken?"

I turn my gaze towards her, resting my head on my palm. "Quick observation."

There was a rare grave expression on her face, "It's too early, your parents haven't made a treaty yet. They're still in the middle of a war and trying to negotiate."

"It's been two decades, should we wait until we are grey and old."

She looked at me pointedly, "Angel, you're immortal."

I rolled my eyes in response, "I wasn't interested in a treaty, to begin with, I much rather destroy the bunch of old fogies and stake their heads as trophies."

"You take after your father a lot."

My lips curved in a bright smile, "Thanks."

She was speechless, "That isn't a good thing!"

"For you." I rolled my eyes, "Anyways can we let our pets fight with us?"

"No."

"Well, that set back things."

"What were you planning?" She cautiously asked.

"I wanted to use their venom to torture Ace's soul rather than destroy it."  I smiled softly in response.

"How much do you remember?"

"Everything, all my memories came back when the seal was broken."

Her eyebrows furrowed in thought, "how did the seal break?"

"Demangelina broke the necklace."

"How could it be so easily broken!" Her voice rose in shock.

"You know Demangelina power is influenced by our emotions. Seeing all your children been killed before your eyes can cause enough anger to knock you out much less giving enough power to break the stupid thing."

Her eyes widened, digesting the information quickly. I observed the emotions flicking through her eyes before her face paled.

"Angel, did you reverse time?" I stared at her silently with dark eyes, her face paled further.

"You know the consequences, why would you do that when you could revive them when you return home."

My brow rose in question, finding the statement far too stupid for my ears. "I care not about the consequences, I rather that than put them through unimaginable pain."

"Angel, they will realize time was altered and can track it back to you. It would be even harder to create the treaty. They wouldn't allow you to grow if you're this powerful."

"Let them come, I've long been done with this foolish war for peace. If they could think of killing a month-old babies because they are too 'powerful', I don't see why you would try to reason with unreasonable fools."

The chair behind me crumbled to the floor loudly. "I am tired," I uttered softly.

"I was sent from my home to an unfamiliar environment with no memory or knowledge of who I am. My parents were forced to send away their babies, not even a year has passed for them and their children will return to them as adults."

"They lost the chance to see any of their children grow up, although they won't regret it, tell me," I inhaled deeply, "how much will it pain them?"

She remained silent, no words to counter it. "I will kill them."

"But you can't, the world will become imbalanced and chaos would be sure to follow." She rushed out, desperation overwhelming her voice. "I have seen it before!"

"I don't care, demons thrive on chaos."

"Look!" The crescent moon embedded on her clear forehead glowed silver before her cold hands clasped my head.

Her movement was fast and unexpected, warmth emit from her palms seeping into my temples and a vivid scene began to play in my mind.

As expected, the world was plunged into darkness, the brilliance of the moon dimmed. The barrier between the dark and light realm weakened significantly, the restrictions on dark creatures in the light realm were lifted. Creatures of darkness roamed the lands seeking the thrill and fun they were deprived of in their once fancy cage.

Screams of mortals echoed in a beautiful melody and sadistic cackles followed after, the light realm became a world with only night and dark creatures crawling every crevice hunting for prey. Creatures born of the light realm couldn't resist much less the pitiful humans.

However, the realm of gods became a canvas of red. Flames leeched on buildings and plants while the lands were flooded with blood and corpses. The glorious glow it once had was gone and a smell of death and gloom festered in the air. The scenes faded and the Moon Goddess face came into view.

Annoyed, I stepped back and glared at the wall. Seeing my reaction she sighed in relief, "Do you understand why I discourage you from doing that."

"Yeah, it's just..." I stared at the wall darkly, honestly, I felt frustrated.

"What is it?"

"I'm starting to think that because of my name," I scanned her face silently, taking in her wary expression. "people keep forgetting I am on the dark side."

I have disappeared for a long long long time and honestly I have no excuse. To put simple, I could not write, not like writer's block or was it? I don't know. I knew enough where I could continue writing but I just couldn't. I have no idea how many times I've spent 2-3 hours infront of the laptop to only come out with 100-300 words and that's on a good day others I'll be lucky if I could complete a paragraph.

So I tried editing since I couldn't write, however, it went to the point where I literally felt sick and wanted to throw up at the sight of my books until I deleted wattpad on a whole.

I apologize for my extremely long departure and lack of notice or warning. I most definitely upset alot of people with my inconsistent updates, I have no idea how many because I'm too scared to look in the comment section and trying to build my courage for that.

I'm very sorry for my irresponsibleness.
