Chapter 5- Let the chase begin
Ace's POV
"I hope you all know that you will regret this," Angel stated, walking through the path, the crowd created like she's not running out of time.
"What can a mere omega do?" I asked, she couldn't even defend herself from me last night.
"Have you forgotten," she replied slowly, "the incident that caused me to be here?"
"If you see me after this day, it would be in your best interest to run," she vanished before our very eyes as her disembodied whisper rang through the air.
Chills racked the length of my spine as I felt bad premonition. After all, she took down the whole school by herself. Furthermore, we had no information about her birth parents and in turn, we do not know much about her.
The omega mates came back with a child one day and request to raise her as their own so of course, we gave her the title of an omega.
"Mike, Jake, and O'Neil keep track of Angel and report to me exactly what's she is doing." My dad commanded, how did she disappear like that?
"Ace, come with me."
"What is it, dad?" I asked, after settling myself down in a chair.
"Angel, something is not right about her." Dad looked worried.
"What about her?" I asked, sitting properly in the chair.
"We need to find out Angel's background, things don't add up. She has a very dark aura lurking in her that doesn't befit a wolf. Even more suspicious, we haven't seen her shift as yet."
"Even so, she has a wolf that I'm certain of. My wolf sensed hers when her eyes turned blue." I explained, "However, when Angel received control it was as though her wolf vanished, I could no longer sense a wolf.
" Dad, ask Mike to update us on Angel's situation."
"Mike?"
"Yes, Alpha."
"Where is Angel now? She has four minutes before I send men to kill her." I asked, not waiting for my dad to speak.
"I'm she is..." Mike paused through the mind link.
"She is what?" Dad encouraged him to continue.
"Alpha, she is feeding her puppies," Mike whispered through the link.
WHAT?! She had less than two minutes to get out of the territory which takes two hours and she was playing with dogs? Was she insane or mental? Does she want to die?
"Let's go." Dad stood, after cutting the link, "she doesn't take us seriously on our warning."
Angel's POV
I took off running to my house, I didn't even take the time to appreciate the wind's soft caress. My mind was completely on my puppies, who knows how long since they've eaten.
Reaching the porch, I could hear scampering paws against the floorboard. I opened the door and small bodies attacked mine, laying an onslaughter of saliva over my face.
"Come on let's get food for your bellies and mine." Our stomaches growled at the mention of food causing me to laugh and puppies making sounds seeming to also be laughing.
I skipped to the kitchen, deciding to cook up a feast for all of us. These guys love meat, especially beef so I always stock up on that for their treat. Beser had four pups, they were also pretty big now.
Beserk, white coat with red eyes reason he was named after his mother. Storm, she had grey fur like how the clouds looked when a storm was near and blue eyes of lightning bolts. Night had a midnight black fur with yellow eyes that shone and seemed to sparkle like the stars of the night. Lastly, Cast was mixed with midnight black fur and white coating on his paws, and blessed with beautiful eyes of blackness on the right and green on the left. I had no idea how they were all different coloured eyes and fur but I didn't care.
It only took thirty minutes to finish cooking. We all devoured our food, and after going days without food, we didn't hesitate to eat our fill.
Seeing as the pups were still eating I took the moment to pack five bags of our essentials. I had already purchased five backpacks for dogs so these came in handy today because otherwise, I would have no idea how I was going to bring essentials for all five of us.
"Guys, we have to leave." I crouched in front of the pups. They stopped playing and look at me with confusion in their eyes.
"They," I steadied my breathing before continuing, "they killed Beser and banished me from the pack." I was pretty sure talking to my puppies has they could understand me was a bit strange but it's like they always understood what I was saying. They were only short of being able to talk to me back.
Beserk and Storm let out a growl while the others whimpered. They looked murderous but went to Cast and Night to comfort them. A sad smile spread across my face. It was a known fact to me that Beser and her pups could understand me clearly. How? I have no idea, I don't often question things. Whether a good habit or bad, I never know.
"Well, we have to go now," I stated before securing each of their bags on their back.
Another unusual thing about Beser and her pups apart from their huge size was their strength and speed.
Opening the front door, I let them go ahead and closed the door behind us. Beserk stood in front of the garage barking but as usual, I seemed to understand what he was communicating.
"I thought you didn't like the car," I replied.
The pack must be heading for me now that the time was done and the wolves around my house are waiting for the arrival of their Alpha for further instructions. I think the car sounds more relaxing than running with these bags. I opened the garage door and the car was revealed. It looked as beautiful as the day my dad got it.
I opened the passenger seat and let the pups in then placed the bags in the trunk and sped out of the garage. The pack warriors had just stepped out of the woods with Conner and Ace in front when I sped by. Their shock didn't last long though and in no time I could see wolves running in the woods on both sides.
Let the chase begin.
