Chapter 4- Rejection & Banishment
Ace's POV
"Yes, we need to discuss what we're going to do with that mate of yours," Dad announced, I knew it would come to this.
I sighed before closing the door and taking a seat. I slouched in the chair completely drained from today's events. The bruises had all healed and they had locked Angel up in a cell.
"I know."
"What are you going to do?" He questioned, my dad and I saw eye to eye in more situations than my mom. Thankfully, this was one of them because I didn't have the energy to argue with him.
Angel's POV
Two days have passed since I woke up in this cell and it stank. But I couldn't focus my mind on that, images of Beser's body flashed through my mind over and over like a scratch record. The one responsible for her death was my mate. Two wars were going on in my head and it feels like the thought of forgiving him. He was my mate after all and the one I'm destined to, only a few things can ever really change that.
Are you a fucking idiot?
I froze, eyes scanning the cell franticly yet there was no one, it was as though it was a fleeting voice in my head. My eyes lit up in excitement, could it have been my wolf? I tried reaching for the connection but emptiness greeted my efforts.
I slumped in disappointment as I rested my cheek on my cradled knees. 'Yeah, I'm probably an idiot.'
Throughout my time here I asked myself questions upon questions. What happens now? How are my pups doing? Have they eaten in the last two days? Will my mate accept me? Can I kill my mate? Did I kill anybody? What's happening to me? How didn't I know Ace was my mate until my wolf took control? How did my wolf take control?
These were just some of the questions running through my head and it infuriated me that I don't know the answer to any of them. The creaking of the cell door brought me out of my thoughts but I kept my gaze on the wall before me.
"Let's go the young alpha wants to see you." The guard announced, looking bored.
I silently went to the guard and let him lead me out. We passed many cells some empty some not. The scent of blood, urine, and silver became weaker the closer we got to the entrance. We stopped at a door made of silver and two guards there.
"Is this her?" The buff guard on the right asked, he had dusty blonde hair and brown eyes.
"Yeah." The guard beside me responded, unlike Buffy he had black hair with brown eyes.
They nod before opening the door with gloved hands. The sunlight immediately flooded the area and momentarily blinded me. The guard didn't even let me adjust to the light before dragging me out by the chains encased on my hands. Ace and his father, my alpha, were standing on the other side waiting for me.
"Hello, Angel" Ace smirked, that smirk always pissed me off.
"Hello, Alpha Ace." I gritted out, staring directly into his eyes. I'm still pissed at him for killing Beser.
"Hello, Alpha Conner." I bowed to his father, he had a glint in his eyes but I wasn't able to understand what it was.
A scent attacked my nose that made me battle to keep my calm. Ace was in a rut. That explained why his eyes were dark. For a wolf especially an alpha in rut, he managed himself pretty well. Talked too soon. Ace lounged himself towards me and I sidestepped him.
"Come on, stop running mate." His voice was deeper and huskier, a telltale that his wolf was currently in control, I looked towards Alpha Conner for help but he was nowhere in sight. Gritting my teeth, I took off running to the woods before I was thrown over a hard shoulder. Despite knowing it was futile, I didn't stop trashing as panic and desperation gripped my tired bones.
