Chapter 17- I am you

Angel's POV

I am a particularly childish person and very few things affect me and one of those things includes looking down on my angels. So to sit in this unbelievably comfy chair and listen to this guy call my baby a pup is testing my self-restraint.

Angelo was all calm and collected through the whole disrespectful act but I can't say the same for me. Fortunately in situations like these Angelo prefers to communicate with actions more than words.

That is why I can sit beside Andy with this smile on my face knowing someone is about to get really hurt and it won't be my baby.

"Can you stop with that smile? It's creeping me out." Andy requested, shifting away from me ever so slightly.

"What creepy smile? My smile is not creepy." I pouted.

The match has begun and Angelo remains on the defensive as the snake attacks with calculated strikes, I have to admit he is a graceful fighter and his moves look fluid but not enough. I have noticed that his middle section is not guarded properly and I am sure Angelo has realized it too.

They utilized most of the battlefield with Angelo's maneuvers and defense they move around the field like they are dancing to their own music it's quite a beautiful scene. Though my angels are unmatched so far with endurance and as of such it didn't come as a surprise that after 15 minutes of non-stop powerful attacking, Triston started to slow down and his breathing got significantly heavier.

"Am surprised the match is going on for so long after seeing the other two matches I thought this one would be quick too," Andy admitted, staying focused on the match not wanting to make the same mistake again.

"Don't worry Angelo is gonna stop playing in a while."

"Huh, playing?"

"Yeah, he could have ended this match from the first thirty seconds in the match."

"But how? Triston is an excellent fighter and really good. His fighting is really fluid, there is no pause and his offense is pretty good though Angelo is holding his own out there." He expressed his observation.

"If you look closely you will see that he attacks only the upper body and his defense to his midriff is not good and you can see his training was more focus on his upper body strength so his legs are fairly easy targets." As if to solidify my point, Angelo delivered a low kick to his left thigh making that leg give out and he falls on one knee but he quickly got up back.

Angelo finally stopped playing and went for his weak points. Direct and powerfully aimed blows to his midriff caused him to hunch slightly and go in a coughing fit but Angelo wasn't leaning up on his attacks. Two strong kicks to the knees and Triston was going down but the finishing blow to the masterpiece was a jab to the throat. He lands in a bowing position on his hands and knees with his head down in a coughing fit.

A smirk grew on my lips and I started giggling uncontrollably. I did say he's gonna get his pride hurt. That's what you get for calling my angel a pup. Bowing is a gesture suited for someone of high rank. From my guess, I believe Triston is aiming to be a warrior, and he has a huge pride so he would only bow to higher-ups. So for someone, a supposedly nobody at that to physically make him bow hit a massive blow to his pride. Triston remains in his position with his hands clenched in the dirt, his coughing stop but he just couldn't move. Angelo's smirk reappeared and in its whole glory.

The Moon Goddess appeared beside Angelo and pronounced him as the victor of the match like she usually does. Thirty minutes have passed and three matches are finished. This was going faster than they expected but I just want the next two hours and a half hours to hurry up and pass, I'm hungry.

"That must have hurt his pride. Your children are ruthless." He mused out.

I giggled, "No, they're angels."

He raised a brow but nods anyway. Am not sure what happened after because I was out like a light in the next second. I got to see Rose winning her match against a Lycan female before I knocked out again. I got to say it looked like a tough match with the way she was bloody and covered in dirt.

Wow, it's hot here, I blinked rapidly to get my eyes used to the low lighting. A stone path was the first thing I made out then it was the trees, they look dead with not even the tiniest of leaves nothing coated their grey bark. If I look further ahead I could see two mountains so I guess am in a valley, a very dead and dull one at that. But what left me in awe as the dark red sky as though blood paints its skin and it held a magnificent black moon in its possession. A chilling breeze passes through and the tree creaked in protest.

I started to tackle the path that doesn't seem to have an end until I started to hear voices. It sounds to be of a child and a woman but I couldn't make out what was been said. Next floating images appeared and disappeared but they were really blurry. I got annoyed and decided to ignore them but then they started heading ahead of me and compiled in one forming a figure. Oddly it was more like a shadow of its own will and one curvy shadow too. That was a clear sign it was the silhouette of a female.

I walked faster to decrease the distance with all my might. Okay that's not true I was barely trying but that doesn't matter right now. The distance between us doesn't lessen yet I know that I was moving.

"Well aren't you a curious one." Her disembodied voice was smoky, filled with so much mystery and mischief.

"Well obviously." I huffed, giving up and cutting down this ever-growing distance.

"They say curiosity kills the cat." I could practically see the teasing smirk.

"They also say cats have nine lives." I retorted, "plus am not a cat and who are you?"

"I am you."

"Well, that explains the height."

"Back off the height, woman." She growled, cause a laugh from me.

"Where is this place anyway? Is it real or just my imagination?" I had to know this.

"That's what you want to know I just said I was you?!" The disbelief was clear in her voice, the distance grew and grew making her voice harder to hear, "but anyway this place is real. I guess your memories are unlocking."

"I don't recall of coming here before in my life but then again it's well known that my memory is not the best." I sighed out, when will my memory work when I want it to.

"Yeah, that will go away soon enough." She chuckled, her voice was getting harder to hear even with my enhanced hearing. The background was disappearing too.

"Wait unlocking?!" I called out but it was too late I was staring into a thick cloud of darkness. Then I heard whispers of my name gradually escalating in volume.

A blinding light appeared and I masked my eyes with my hands. My body started drifting towards the voice and my senses awaken. I could feel someone shaking me, they will surely receive a consequence for that.

"Angel, wake up! Your children are here." I opened my eyes to see an empty arena and Andy's arm that is not squished to accommodate my head on his shoulder was shaking me.

I grabbed his hand and bend it enough to hurt but not break. "Don't shake me." My voice was flat and serious, he nodded while wincing.

A smile lit up my face and cheerfully I asked, "where are my babies?"

"Over there, they moved away when I started shaking you." He points to them a few steps up. Like that wasn't clear warning to not do whatever you were gonna do and in this case, shake me awake.

Thankfully my seat is right at the stairs so all I have to do is get up and walk up or down the stairs. "Let go to eat! I am famished."
