Angel's POV
I was floating, with what current? I had no clue. It was an endless darkness, no beginning and no end. Despite that I felt light as though my burdens were no more to bear, they were gone.
It was quiet, a calmness like no other. Something I've never really experienced, there was always a head full of thoughts and wonders, worries and troubles but also pain and sorrow.
I once had many I held close but one by one they were taken from me, it left me feeling alone in this scary world. I was only a child yet I didn't have time to experience it before I was forced to grow up.
It felt like I was creeping on an endless path with no light or company, I had the pups but sometimes it wasn't enough. Then came my lights that lit up the path, my babies.
"We love you, my clovers." A faint voice resounded, a glow of light lit up behind me grabbing my attention.
Curiously, I turned to the source, it was a memory. There was a woman above me with glistening silver hair and damped silver eyes, a stray tear escaped her eyes and many other behind it. A towering man with inky black hair and eyes of blood held her comfortingly. It could be seen he wasn't one to portray his emotion vividly on his face but rather in his red eyes. The pain and self-blame that roared in his dark orbs were raging like a beautiful flame.
I didn't recognize this couple but our striking resemblance was impossible to ignore. The calm was gone and once again questions flooded my mind.
As though watching through another eye, my sight was shifted to three babies by the side. One was crying, another was sniffing but the last watched on calmly, the behavior was a carbon copy of the red-eyed man.
Four ladies entered the room, they all had a resemblance to that of the crying lady but one I recognized instantly, my mom. She stepped towards the lady with a comforting rub of the back.
"Don't worry Amaris, we'll keep your babies safe. You can count on us."
The woman released herself from the man's grasp and took out four necklaces. "Give this to-"
The place was shrouded with darkness once again. It was silent but my mind was noisy with unanswered questions. There was light again and another memory appeared opposite the last.
This time I was standing in front of a mirror, I could see parts of the bedroom reflected were designed in a dark vintage theme. It was a design unexpected of a toddler's room.
"Who are you?"
"I am Demangelina." The girl in the mirror dramatically bowed but I had made no movements.
"Why are you my reflection?"
"I am not."
"Then what are you?"
"I am your demon."
"You don't look like a demon, you like me."
"I am you but I am not."
"That's rather confusing."
The reflection started to morph, a pair of short horns grew on her head, and ink crawl under her skin and settled as tattoo-like vines creeping from her eyes. The most breathtaking feature was the red eyes that began to glow as the white turned black. A powerful black pair of wings rest gently on her back with a few nervous twitches.
"You are beautiful." An interrupting knock rang from the door, snatching my attention from Demangelina's true image.
"Whom do you speak with, honey?" The weeping lady from earlier questioned affectionately.
"Demangelina."
"Who is that?"
"My demon."
"Really? She came early. Tell her hi for me."
"Okay, mommy."
"Good girl." My two-year-old self was picked up into the arms of the silver-haired woman said to be my mother.
The memory stopped, unlike before there was no pause before another played.
"Mama, why do you have to seal our powers?"
She crouched to meet my two-year-old height, "Because a war is going to happen, people think you guys are dangerous and need to be killed."
"Then why not just kill them." My words reflected that of another, this caused her to chuckle.
"Sometimes it's better to not make a bloodbath."
"But they want to kill us. It would only be eliminating a threat." A girl beside me grumbled, I was astonished by the words that were uttered out of these toddlers' mouths including mine.
Demangelina's POV
I got comfortable in a meditating position by the lake, trying to draw energy from the space around me.
"What are you doing?"
"You can call it meditating."
"Purpose?"
"Are you words gold? Why not talk in complete sentences?"
"Why are you 'meditating? You don't seem like the type to meditate?" A whisper entered my ears, I opened my eyes and glared into his beautiful orbs inches before me.
"If you must know, I am drawing energy from nature and personal space would be appreciated."
He stared silently into my eyes before cutting the space between, greeting our lips. My eyes narrowed, grasping his neck I slammed him onto the ground. My nails lengthened, slightly nipped his skin and a trail of blood flowed.
"What do you think you're doing?"
"Helping."
I raised a sarcastic brow in silence. "I am not Angel's second chance mate but rather her mate, right?"
My mind did a quick tumble at the sudden change of topic. "Ace was her mate because of her wolf while I'm here because of you," he continued.
"So?"
"Just confirming, the idea didn't sit well that if Ace didn't reject her I wouldn't have her. I'm relieved that we would've met her whether he did or not." I furrowed my eyebrows at his comment, he's a bit random at times.
"Why did you kiss me?"
"You needed energy so I gave it to you." I paused, there was indeed a rise in my energy.
"But you are not a demon."
"My mother had the bloodline of dark witches."
"That sounds like an interesting bedtime story."
He remained silent before raising his limped hands to my side, wordlessly he sat up and once again our faces were inches away. Releasing his neck, I grabbed his shoulders when he suddenly stood up grasping me by the sides.
I stared flatly at his face that was leveled with mine, he chuckled and reunited my feet with the ground. In place of his face, his chest was now leveled with my head. I ticked my tongue and resumed my position.
"Thank you," I uttered before I began drawing energy again, he lessened the time I need but I still needed more energy.
