LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA NOVEMBER 19TH, 2018 9:50 P.M.
"YOU'RE WHAT?" Cassie asked her roommate in disbelief, as she tried to comprehend the news Crystal was delivering. Cassie came home from work to an apartment full of cardboard boxes full of Crystal's things. Her jaw gaped as she stared at the slew of items and boxes around the living room alone. She was stuck, literally between two boxes, and figuratively, as she tried to find something to say.
"I got an agent to help me book roles so I'm moving to West Hollywood." Crystal beamed grabbing some clear tape to seal the boxes. "I know its sudden Cass, but this is a sign for me to pursue my dreams."
"All the way to West Hollywood? Why would you need to move?" Cassie frowned still in shock.
"I can't afford to Uber back and forth as a bartender, so my new agent offered for me to stay with him, you know until I get on my feet as a stable actress." Crystal smiled, her excitement not once diminishing.
"But what about rent?" Cassie released a heavy breath trying to see how this was a good idea. "I can't pay for this apartment on my own Crys."
"You can always find another roommate Cassie." Crystal laughed walking into the bedroom and began packing her bed sheets. "They may even make more than I do."
"I can't find another best friend though Crystal." Cassie sighed, before she narrowed her eyes and the brunette. "Why didn't you tell me about this before?"
"Well to be fair, you haven't really been here these last few days with your shifts." Crystal huffed looking away from Cassie's intense gaze, running a hand through her hair. "And that's a good thing, because you're pursuing something that makes you happy. So why shouldn't I do the same?" Crystal questioned, her eyes pleading for her best friend to understand her desire to pursue this. She wanted, no she needed this.
Cassie stares at her best friend, her thoughts racing at eight miles per hour. Who was this guy? Was he legit? How was she going to find a roommate as great as her best friend of eight years? Feeling anxious, she, of course, wanted her best friend to pursue her dreams. However, Crystal was impulsive, which isn't much considering Cassie is also very impulsive. However, out of the two, she was the rational thinker who happened to act impulsively.
Crystal tended to jump into things without thinking about the consequences, leaving Cassie to come and clean up the mess and put a broken Crystal back together.
With a disgruntled sigh, she relented because, ultimately, she had made a great point, and it would be hypocritical for her to not support her acting career when Crystal had been supportive of Cassie throughout her time in the academy when she first told her she wanted to become a firefighter.
