40 days of practicing the mantra, I could tell the difference when I invoked the Astra. I could almost see the deity invoked in the arrow.

"Alaknanda, why do risk everything like this?" Mamashree complained, sighing. I practiced controlling the earth. Changing the soil into sand, then turning it into rock, turning rock into invisible dust, and then back into the soil.

I wrapped fighting bandages over my hands, wore an orange dhoti, and wore my boots. Tying my hair into dutch braids. A cloth over my eyes.

I pushed the rock closer to him, he pushed it away with the staff. I attacked him with a few more rocks but he defended against them all.

With a cloth over my eyes, I relied heavily on vibrations from the ground.

It was a routine. Every morning before the sun would have risen on Earth, I would have finished my morning rituals, offering water to Surya dev, and both of us, mama and I, would be in Vitala. We practice my earth control and earthen combat.

I had gotten a lot better from where I had started. I could control the earth better. I started to combine the earth and Maya together to form attacks. It was complex but achievable with a lot of practice. Mama had a very good experience with training one to gain control over the element of Maya. Surprisingly, he had very strong repulsion against my Maya. Of course, my control over Maya too has gotten better. Stronger. I could contain the illusions longer than 10 minutes now.

Though mama insists that I lose details here and there. He had been teaching me how to create the illusion of me being at several places at once. He still could easily tell the difference. That is where I have to gear up. I miss certain details. I have to pick them up.

"Alaknanda, understand this. I have not brought you back just for you to be killed again." He added, slightly angry.

I took off my blindfold and angrily attacked him. "Tell me again how far I have gotten after coming back? It has been 300 earth days and what have I achieved? Nothing. I have been stuck here and there but have not really achieved anything. Let me make this clear, Guru Shukracharya, I do not plan to fall right into the ranks of the creature that had killed me. No. I am not a part of asuras. I will not be supporting them."

"You have to grow more to even stand up to Virat at this point, Alaknanda. Understand that he has a boon from Brahma dev and is not some regular villain from Bollywood movie that you fight away with simple tricks. No." He blocked the attacks.

He sighed. "Listen, Alaknanda. I care for your safety. That is why I stress on you being careful. Your restlessness might make you do something rash and put all this hard work to waste. I want you to only grow further, Alaknanda. Before standing face to face with him again, you have to grow at least half as him to stand your ground against him. I have taught the boy and I know what he possesses."
