There is no one who knows how to sneak in without a single word except Alakshmi. She's the greatest con artist I have met till now.
You never really realize when Alakshmi has arrived to your door while you mistake it to be your prestige. You think you are proud of what you have achieved but you will not realize how quickly Alakshmi has taken over you with that pride.
She's played like that with great asuras, falling into her trap of self-praise.
She distracted Virat at mamashree's place while I got into Virat's private wing in disguise as a servant. I was hoping to find some clue about his boon. He was quite busy celebrating his victory and impressing maa. While I set Alakshmi to deal with Virat.
The moment I entered the wing, I was quite taken aback. A large courtyard was made where several women were present. They were either playing board games or gossiping with each other. Some were quarrelling.
The wing was made with such grandeur that you'd be surprised. Easily one of the most luxurious places. A large fountain with a greek statue was kept. A few birds here and there. Some indoor plants.
The courtyard had an open top. Right between the courtyard and corridor was a large waterway. A stone pathway was made to let people get to the courtyard. In the waters were several fishes swimming around. The pillars in the corridors were made to resemble greek columns.
"You..." One of the women called me out. I mentally swore at being caught. I walked up to her. "Who are you? I have never seen you here before." She commented. She wore a stylized skirt and a blouse. Jewellery decorating her shoulders and neck. Her dupatta was on her arms.
"I'm-"
"My apologies, My lady. She is my daughter. She kept saying that she wanted to once see the palace so I brought her here." A rakshsi came ahead. She grabbed my hand.
What? Who was she?
The woman who seemed to be one of high ranking women in the harem looked at me carefully. She grabbed my jaw and looked at me as if I was a specimen in a biology lab and she has to name the species and genus correctly. She actually grabbed my jaw a little hard.
"Adheera, how is your family now? You took a few days leave to meet them, right?" The woman asked.
"Yes, my lady. They are doing well."
The woman's eyes were only on me, not moving away.
"Make sure she doesn't come before Virat's eyes. If Virat sees her even once, your head is coming off." The woman threatened and pushed me away.
What was that about? Such an odd woman. She could have just said get out, what was with trying to threaten me?
"Yes, my lady. I will make sure she's gone before the Lord arrives." The rakshasi assured.
