The battle was quite intense by the time we had crossed the fourth level. The formation was fixed and the soldiers kept knowing in the exact formation. From one spot to the next in a quick fashion.

I always used to be very confused about why guerrilla warfare was so effective. I had heard of this technique used extensively by Marathas against the Mughals. Given that most of the area was in the Aravalli range where mountains were common but I couldn't understand its effectiveness.

Now, when I personally was indulged in it, I could understand its effectiveness. Especially with the devansh who were extremely good at battle. Their higher senses worked in sync during battle. So much of the devansh history is just battle glory. No guts, no glory.

Devansh live for glory. Hence, every battle, small or large mattered largely to them.

The fire set out blazing through the enemy. The ambush was unexpected. The calculation is easily noticeable but uncalculated attacks are often successful. A tiger doesn't plan its attach by calculation. It attacks with a gut feeling when they can feel the prey being close. That is exactly how guerrilla warfare worked.

The sense of the enemy being really close by is strong on our senses which warn us that we're surrounded by danger. The signal for attack was given by archers. The archers receive signals from Anna or bhaiya about when to attack and when to retreat.

The format was the same. Hide, attack, run, hide. This process continued until the final signal for the victory is given off by either of the camps.

Chandrahasa was quite efficient in its blows.

The signal was given, Aditya and I came out of the spot and attacked the daityas. The sword cut my arm. Blood spilled and pain surged. I fought with greater strength. I turned around and fought. Dodging the attack and retaliating back. I twirled the sword and attacked.

When the battle had ended, we got a final signal from Bhaiya and Anna. At the end of which, we got out of the hiding and finished off any left enemy soldiers.

At the victory of the war, all of us celebrated the victory. We then did the post-war work. We had to clear the bodies of the rakshasas, daityas, and danavas so that no one finds it out. The agnansha burned the bodied. After the entire job was done, all of us started to pack to return to Gurukul.

Anna was speaking to Harsh. Harsh nodded but I knew from his expression that he didn't particularly like it. If it was up to him he would be fighting to argue otherwise but he kept his mouth shut because he was speaking to Anna.

"Anna..." I walked up to them and asked.

"Harsh, I can understand you want to stay back but you have some work back at Gurukul. You do have to do half of the work." Anna put his hand on Harsh's shoulder.
