April 10th, 1979 - James and Lily's Apartment
After Sirius had side-apparated away from the meeting with Nephera, everyone could tell that there was a fight brewing between them. The marauders themselves had been more stressed than ever, each and every one for different reasons.
Peter, because he feared the couple would go back to their pre-Christmas sixth-year phase, when they were at each other's throats every second of every day. The mousy boy was never the best at dealing with conflict, and the idea of a fight between Nephera and Sirius actually scared him.
Remus, being the only one the brunette had confided to about the Fortune Teller in Mystery, was scared that the second part of the woman's words would come true.
However, the most stressed out of them all, was James. Having dealt with Sirius for the best part of eight years now, he knew that his brother never coped well whenever one of his friends where in danger, never mind when it was Nephera that was in danger.
"I need you to relax, love," tried Lily, smoothing her hands over her boyfriend's back, "It's near midnight, they had a fight, but I'm sure they're fine now. You can talk to him tomorrow, but you need sleep,"
The curly-haired boy huffed out a breath, turning his head on the pillow to look at the redhead, "I don't know, I have a bad feeling about this,"
"Are you sure it's their relationship you're worried about and not the fact that there's a dead pool going around with Nephera's name right at the top,"
Lily had always been blunt when it came to certain things, and this was no exception to that, "Well of course I'm worried, flower. I mean, hell, a million fucking galleons..." he muttered
"Come here," smiled the witch, opening her arms and letting him settle in them, pressing a kiss to the top of his hair, "It'll be over some day, and then we'll finally be alright, you'll see,"
"You don't know that," he whispered, as though afraid to say it louder, "I lost my parents, I can't lose you, or the guys, or Nephera, I just can't,"
"And you won't. This is Nephera fucking Winchester, alright? She's not dying anytime soon,"
The wizard didn't say anything after that, closing his eyes and trying to fall asleep as silence settled over the house. Said silence only lasted a few minutes, before the crack of apparition was heard from downstairs and both James and Lily snapped up, grabbing their wands, "Stay up here," he ordered, moving towards the door
"What? You're not going down there alone,"
"They can't hurt me because of the vow, I'm going, you're staying up here," insisted the boy as more crashing came from downstairs
Lily only fixed him with a glare, "Walk, Potter, I'm right behind you,"
The two of them crept down the stairs, flicking at every loud noise, "What the hell are they doing?" asked James, "Trying to loot the place before they kill us?"
"Motherfucker!" they heard a familiar voice yell out
The couple simultaneously groaned as they lowered their wands, rushing downstairs, "Padfoot, mate-" started the other wizard, only top stop dead in his tracks
Sirius Black was in his living room, seemingly drunk out of his mind, crying and holding a bottle of Firewhiskey, trying to open it. Lily's eyes softened, "I'll go prepare the guest room," she whispered, and James nodded
"Prongs, prongs, come here and help me open this," slurred Sirius
Walking up to him, the Potter boy had to actually wrestle the bottle out of his best friends grip, "Padfoot, what happened?" he asked, grabbing him and picking him up from the floor by his arm, "Come on, sit down,"
