again i remind you: IF peter becomes a deatheater, it will be written out in detail, no need to stress over every single detail

March 20th, 1980 - Grimmauld Place

It had been a little over a week since the events that had landed Nephera's face being plastered all over the wizarding world in 'Wanted' posters. Lily, Peter, and Remus had also been taken in for questioning a few days after the rest, but that too had gone smoothly due to Sirius's efforts.

The brunette witch had grown accustomed to the long days with nothing to do. Mostly, she spent her time pouring herself over her books, trying to find out what kind of modification her father had performed on the blood curse the other day. Unfortunately, there was nothing she could find to help her figure it out. Not in the books she had stolen from the manor back in sixth year, not in the ones she had acquired on her own, nor in any of Walburga and Orion's books. Her father was an asshole, but he was a smart one. She had to inherit it from someone.

The door opened, and she recognized Sirius's voice greeting Crookshanks as he came back from patrols despite the early hour of the morning. Just because they had escaped the questioning, does not mean that they had completely been left off the hook. The Minister had personally made sure that the entirety of their group had been assigned patrols at the most obscene hours, "Morning mon coeur," he greeted, leaning down and pressing a kiss on the top of her head, "Still researching?"

He picked up one of the books laying around, flicking through a few of its pages, "Kreacher, coffee," he called out, "This paper feels weird," he commented absentmindedly

"Be nice to him," she chided, "And that's not paper, it's human skin, be careful with it, it's very delicate,"

The book clattered back on the table, "Alright," he nodded, "And with that, I'm going to go upstairs and shower,"

She glared at him playfully, "I'm going over to Knockturn today, I need to meet with a couple of people,"

The wizard frowned, "Are you sure? Just wait for me to shower, I'll come with you,"

She shook her head, smiling at the protectiveness, "Don't worry, I've got more friends than not there, you know that. Besides, you still happen to be an Auror. What would the Minister say?"

"Oh he'd be undoubtedly appalled," he pulled a newspaper out of his jacket pocket, "You're still front page, and every page after that,"

'The search for Nephera Winchester continues, her known associates claim they have no idea where she is.'

'Nephera Winchester: stress of war finally getting to the young girl once thought of as a hero?'

'Minister of Magic fully recovered after ex-Auror Nephera Winchester used one the unforgivable curses on him,'

'Speculation over the validity of the interrogations of Winchester's close associates,'

She laughed skimming through it, "That's a good picture, at least, we should frame this," she put the paper down, "Have you spoken to Dumbledore at all? Does he know what my father and the others were doing there that day?"

"He doesn't like me any more than he likes you, so no," replied her wizard, "Is that what you're going to do in Knockturn, ask around?"

The witch nodded, closing the book in front of her and waving her wand so that all the books returned to their rightful places, "Hopefully I'll come up with something," she shook her head, "It's got me running in circles. I can't help but feel like it was something major,"

The wizard shook his head, stopping her rambling before it began, "If it is something major, I'm sure you'll find it," he calmed her down, "You also need to look into what you do with Gringott's,"
