note: there's a time skip of like, a month and a half because I can't write grief at all and I don't want to make it seem as though they brushed over Reggie's and Ailani's deaths, so just assume that for the past month they've all been slowly grieving and very sad :)
note n.2: if (emphasis on the if) Peter becomes a death eater, it will be written out in detail so you can stop stressing act what side he's on
July 29th, 1979 - Nephera and Sirius's Home
It had been a month and a half since Ailani and Regulus's deaths, and to say that it had been a tough time for the couple would be an understatement. Both of them were dealing with the losses of their two friends, each one blaming themselves for the losses.
The fact that the two had always shied away from showing emotion made matters even worse in the beginning. Sirius thought he had to appear unaffected and strong for Nephera's sake, while Nephera was doing the exact same thing for Sirius. James had to actually intervene and sit them down one week into the grieving process in order to get them to talk.
There was also another, quite interesting fact. Voldemort, as well as the entirety of the wizarding world barring the Order, thought that the brunette was dead. Voldemort thought he killed her, why not let him believe it for a moment? It was like Regulus had said in his final letter, the best advantage is the one the other side knows nothing about.
Not to mention that her being supposedly dead let her, and the rest of her friends rest easy for the moment, knowing that she wasn't actively being hunted around. She could tell that Sirius appreciated that fact, at least he didn't have to worry about her safety on top of dealing with the loss of his brother.
The downside? Nephera couldn't go into the wizarding world anymore. Small price to pay in the name of safety and mental stability for Sirius, but by Salazar was the muggle world boring. Not to mention that since she was technically dead, she couldn't go to work anymore, nor could she go on Order missions.
She had taken over planning the missions for the Order- much to Dumbledore's dismay- which wasn't really bad if she was honest. She was more in charge now than she was before, she was the one pulling the strings and moving everyone else around.
Still, none of that could make up for the two losses she had suffered. She missed both of them, Ailani and her willingness to curse anyone that messed with her and her crystals. Regulus and his snappy comments, and his ability to keep up with her in a discussion.
Yes, she missed them. But she'd be getting her revenge one day, and it would be bloody.
Those were the thoughts swimming around her head as she was sitting near the edge of the cliff that was located a few meters away from their house. She had to admit, her wizard had picked the location perfectly. She could hear the rough crashing of the waves below, she could smell the saltwater, and right in front of her stood two small rock cairns.
One rock piled on top of the other, held upright by magic, a memorial to Regulus and Ailani since Nephera couldn't go to either one of their funerals.
Sirius was just waking up, stirring in bed and panicking momentarily when he didn't feel Nephera next to him. Both of them tended to sleep in late if they didn't have anything that specific day, and it was early as it was, so where the hell was she?
He shot upright, the scene of her body hitting the floor in Winchester Manor still fresh in his mind, and yelled out her name, only panicking more when he didn't get a response.
Looking for his wand, his mind flashing to the worst possible outcome, his eyes falling to the window. Sirius let out a breath of relief when he saw her silhouette sitting on the edge of the cliff.
