November 25th, 1980 - Grimmauld Place
It had gotten to the point where Nephera almost forgot what day of the week it was, they all blended together in a blur of routine. The rest all had something to differentiate their days from, Lily was still acting as a Healer for the Order whenever someone got hurt on a mission, and she had Harry alongside James, who also had the Auror office with Sirius. Peter and Remus too had their own jobs to tend to, and the boys kept going on the occasional Order mission, although those were far less frequent than they had been a year ago.
But Nephera? Nephera had nothing, nothing at all.
She couldn't leave the house, partly because almost every witch and wizard with a working heartbeat was after her, and she still had some lingering trauma from her obliviation, although thankfully she was slowly getting better by the day.
No, the only thing Nephera could do was research. Research how to locate the Horcruxes, research what her mother might be doing, both of which tended to prove to be nothing more then dead ends, "I know that look," came Remus's voice, who had come by for lunch before going to work in the evening, "You're about to break something,"
The glare the brunette gave him would've sent him six feet under if he didn't know the young witch as well as he did, "I am sick and tired of this," she spat, throwing the book in front of her on the table, "If I stare at another page I'll kill someone,"
"Still can't figure out a way to locate the Horcruxes, huh?"
"Correction, Moony, locating Horcruxes is impossible. If there was a way, I would've found it long ago,"
Indeed, the girl was right. If there was a way for Horcruxes to be located, she would've figured it out, the fact that she hadn't, meant that there wasn't one. At least not in any known magic, nor in any magic that could be created, for Nephera had tried making her own spells to locate them, to no avail. Whether it was the nature of the Horcruxes, or whether Riddle had protected them with every single spell, rune, curse, and magic he knew, she didn't know, but not even the Tenebris wand could crack those things open.
"I need a fight, Moony, something to get this fucking adrenaline out of me. Sitting around all day is just-"
"Pure torture, I know. Any news on what your mother's doing?"
By the look on her face, no, and Remus could tell she wasn't happy about it either, "I don't know what he'd use her for," she sighed, "My mother was a housewife, I don't doubt that she had her own connections in different places, but none that anyone knew of, and none that could've been bigger than the people my father knew. Why wouldn't he just use him?"
"Well, most of your father's connections have now become yours, people are more scared of you than they are of him at this point. Maybe your mother was just a last resort,"
"Right, or maybe he's planning on making another Horcrux and needs my mother to procure the object for him,"
The thought of the Horcruxes still sent a shiver down the werewolf's spine, no matter how many times he thought of it. The fact that Voldemort might be downright immortal at this point, the fact that, even if they did manage to kill him (and by they, Remus meant Nephera), it wouldn't matter, because he could just come back... They were fucked, "No luck there either, huh?" he said instead, not showing how the hairs in the back of his neck had stood up
"No, I'm racking my brain trying to remember if anyone had let anything slip while I was- while I was with them, but nothing. Makes sense, of course, even when he thinks he's won, he's still a paranoid bastard- Damn him and his foresight,"
