I landed next to Vi in one of the alleyways. She took off her hood and tilted her head back to smell the smog fill air of the Undercity. I heard someone walking towards us making me look in that direction. I nudged her arm slightly making her look as well.
It was a guy and two women who were walking towards us. The guy and woman went up to Vi while the other one came up to me. I stared at the woman with a nonchalant look on my face. I glanced down slightly to see she was wearing an outfit I liked. "You have nice taste", I said to her then grabbed her by her collar. I slammed my head against her as hard as I could. You could hear the sound of our heads colliding. Like rocks being smashed together. I dropped her body making her collapse on the ground then held my forehead in pain.
"Did you just headbutt her", Vi asked as she took the guy's jacket off him. "I always wanted to try it", I groaned while laughing. I squat down still holding my forehead. I let out slowed breaths trying to ease the pain.
"Remind me to never attempt that again", I groaned. "Get up, let me see", she said walking to stand in front of me. I stood up still holding my forehead. She moved my hand to look at my forehead. Vi grabbed my face with both of her hands moving it to the side slightly as she looked over my forehead. She had rough hands which isn't shocking, it felt nice. I felt my face heat up making me glance away to avoid eye contact with her.
"Am I good", I asked looking back at her. She just stared at me, moving her thumb slightly as if she was feeling my face. I leaned slightly into her touch. She took a deep breath in then removed her hands off my face.
"You have knot forming", she stated. "Wait are you for real", I asked touching my forehead. "I'm just messing with you, angel", she chuckled. "There you go with that nickname", I mumbled.
We heard someone landing on a metal roof making us look. Caitlyn finally made it to where we were. She landed on the ground pressing her back up against the wall. Vi grabbed the clothes she took off the woman and tossed it to Caitlyn.
"Welcome to the lanes", Vi said walking towards her. "You almost got me killed", Caitlyn retorted. "MY little sister could do that when she was seven", Vi stated. "All us fissure folk can, don't you want to blend in", Vi asked then walked past her. Caitlyn looked at me with a disbelief look, making me smile at her while shrugging my shoulders.
We were now at one of the undercity's food venues. Vi was eating away at something that looked like greasy tentacles, it was very messy. She lifts her head up with a huge smile on her face with grease dripping down the side of her mouth.
"Oh, Jericho, have I missed these", she exclaimed. Jericho chopped a fish in half while laughing. "Hmm", Vi asked holding out a tentacle to Caitlyn. "No thank you", Caitlyn replied sternly. Vi then looked at me.
"I'm full", I replied while fiddling with a fork I found on the counter. Caitlyn began asking Vi questions about Silco and the investigation. I blocked off their conversation, I was too busy thinking about my home. I know it was engulfed in flames, but maybe it's still there. The tree we lived in should be pretty hard to burn down.
"You killed them, little sis", Zahir's voice said in my ear making my eyes widen. I jumped when I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. I grabbed the fork turning around at lighting speed ready to stab the person who I thought was Zahir. Vi's hand caught my wrist stopping me. I snapped out of my daze seeing I almost stabbed Caitlyn. I dropped the fork onto the ground.
"I-I'm sorry", I said quickly. Vi looked me up and down then released my wrist. "Did you just try to stab me", Caitlyn questioned making me shake my head. "No I wasn't it was instinct I'm sorry, Cait", I explained. "...It's alright, we need to get going", she replied glancing at Vi. I got out of my seat. I looked at Vi who had I think a look of worry on her face.
"I'm fine", I repeated. "Yeah okay", she mumbled then turned around heading to our next destination. After a while of walking, we were now walking across a bridge of some kind. Vi stopped to look over the railing at the bar down below. It was called "The Last Drop". I assume it was VIP since there was a guy arguing with two hugebodyguards who were standing in front of the entrance.
"Well, that place does look like it has bodies buried in the basement", Caitlyn commented. I heard Vi's breath pick up slightly as she grip the railing tightly. "You don't know anything", she snapped at Caitlyn then shoved past her as she did. Caitlyn glanced at me confused at what she said. I just shrugged my shoulders.
We walked down a stairway that led us into another dark alleyway. We stopped in front of a metal door. Vi knocked on it. The small window door slid open revealing someone's eye. Vi showed them the little paper she had in her hands. The small window closed soon after. We heard various locks unlocking. The door finally opened to reveal a long hallway, wicked laughter sounded all throughout it.
"Uh Vi where are we", I asked. "The one place all the secrets are spilled", she answered then walked in. Caitlyn and I followed her inside. You could hear all sorts of things. People talking, kissing and fucking. I just happened to glance in one of the rooms.
I don't think it's safe to shove that up someone's assho-
"How do we go up about this", Caitlyn asked. "Let 'em think you work here", Vi answered. "Excuse me? I will not", Caitlyn fussed. "You know what your problem is", Vi asked walking towards her. "Please, tell me", Caitlyn replied rolling her eyes. "You expect everyone to give you what you want", Vi stated circling her slowly, what is she doing? "If you really want people to talk to you, you have to let them think you have what they want", Vi explained looking over her body.
"And what do I have", Caitlyn asked. "You're hot, Caitlyn", Vi said then pinned her against the wall. "So what'll it be, man or woman", Vi asked leaning in slightly. I felt uncomfortable watching them, like really uncomfortable. I looked away just so happen seeing someone walking by us. I grabbed the masked man by his arm and forced him to walk up towards them.
"Oh uh hi I'm Pim, what's your name", Pim stammered. "Matilda, but you can call her whatever you want", Vi replied then motioned to Caitlyn. "Ah yes Matilda", Caityln said then began chattering away with the guy. Vi and I left them alone walking further down the hallway. Once we were further away distance I stopped walking. Vi noticed so she stopped walking to face me.
"What is it", Vi asked. "..I need to go", I said avoiding eye contact with her. "What do you mean you have to go", she asked stepping closer towards me. "I have to go", I sighed. "Are you ditching me", she questioned. "What no no never", I reassured. "I have to go see my home just real quick I'll meet you back here", I explained.
"Why not wait we could go after this", she asked. "We both know it'll be better for me to go now and get it over with", I replied. She let out a sigh looking at the wall then back at me.
"Fine just be quick", she asked. "I will", I replied about to walk away. "You know you're cute when jealous", she said making me turn around. "Jealous? I wasn't jealous", I retorted quickly. "I was just helping you speed things up", I explained. "Hmm sure you were", she smirked. "Let me go, I'll be back", I huffed walking away. "Be quick, Angel", she commented making me shake my head as I tried to hide the smile on my face.
