Y/n's pov
I slowly opened my eyes to see I was in a bedroom? I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand as I sat up. I immediately grabbed my stomach when pain erupted throughout my body.
"Y/n", a voice said making me look over. It was Vi she was sitting in a chair beside the bed I was laying on. "Are we at Caitlyn's h-", I tried asking me, but she pulled me into a tight hug. "I thought I lost you", she admitted squeezing me tightly. "Vi Vi the wound the wound", I said quickly causing her to unwrap her arms around me. "Oh shit sorry my bad", she said holding her hands up slightly. I looked down seeing I was just in my bra with a bunch of bandages wrapped around my stomach. "Did I pass out", I questioned. "Yeah when uh Caitlyn's mom pulled a gun on us", she answered. "...I swear I thought that was a dream", I chuckled dryly. "Yeah", she chuckled smiling down at the ground then looked back up at me.
"I really thought I was going to lose you", she confessed, her smile now replaced with a frown. "...Can't get rid of me that easily", I replied. "I promised to have your back", I added nudging her shoulder with my fist. Before I could pull away she grabbed it. She gently made me open my hand open to be able to hold it tightly in hers.
"You're right, it's never easy shaking off an angel", she replied. I felt my face started to burn up. The heat would put a fire itself to shame. I also felt dizzy, don't know if it's from her or the medicine. We heard someone cough making us look to see how it was. It was Caitlyn's mom.
"Caitlyn would like to speak to you", she told Vi. "She can't come in here", she questioned. "She can, but I need to have a talk with Y/n..alone", she explained. Vi just stayed in her spot. I squeezed her hand slightly making her look back at me.
"Go Vi, I'm fine", I reassured. Vi stared at me then stood up. "I'll be back", she said releasing my hand then turning around to leave. She gave Caitlyn's mom a look before leaving the room. Ms. Kiramman walked towards me, taking a seat in the chair beside the bed.
"So you're Y/n", she stated. "That I am"I replied making her let out a sigh. "Least I have some idea of who you are", she said. "You patched me up", I questioned. "Reluctantly", she answered. "So are you going to turn me in", I asked. "No even though I have to, I refuse to", she stated. "Why aren't you a council member", I questioned. Ms. Kiramman fixed her posture while looking away.
"When Caitlyn told my husband and I about you, I was furious and upset at her for allowing stray into our home without our permission", she explained. "But we did still searched for you until we started believing you didn't' exist, just a figment of her imagination", she added waving her hand slightly. "What I'm saying is you are a dear friend of Caitlyn and I trust she chooses her company wisely", she finished. I stared at her processing everything she said. "So you're not going to report us", I questioned. "I will always be a mother, no social status will be put before that", she replied standing up. "Get some rest my first aid skills aren't that well", she stated then began leaving. "Thank you", I said before she left the room. She stalled for a minute then left the room.
I was sitting outside in the huge backyard Caitlyn and I played in when we were kids. I had my eyes closed enjoying the wind that brushed against my skin. The sun shone down on me making my skin feel hot, but comfortable. I heard the sound of quiet footsteps coming towards me from behind.
"You can't sneak up on me Vi", I said out loud, not turning around. I heard her let out a sigh, her footsteps going back to the heavy sounds. "You couldn't let me just scare you", she asked sitting down next to me. "Hmm no, can't handle damaging my pride", I giggled. She let out a hum in approval. It was quiet again now, the peaceful kind.
"Why are you out here shouldn't you be resting", Vi stated. "Yeah, but I feel more eat ease out here", I replied looking at her. "And it's been a while since I felt the sun", I added. "You like the sun", she questioned stretching her legs out then laid back. "Only cause of my dad", I answered lying back as well.
"He use to tell me the heat we feel against our skins are just little hugs and kisses from the sun", I explained. "And you believed that", she said making me roll my eyes. "Yes I did, I was a kid", I replied. "Not going to lie I would've believed it too'', she admitted. "Why", I questioned. "How do I explain it", she sighed. "This is my first time seeing you under the sun, you looked beautiful like your skin was shining and more smoother than usual", she explained. I nodded my head, but then stopped when I realized what she said.
"You think I'm beautiful", I asked turning my head to the side to look at her. "Yeah, I think you are", she answered turning her head to look back at me. "..I think you are too", I mumbled avoiding eye contact with her. "You do even with blurred vision", she chuckled. I just nodded my head. "I can still see pretty things Vi...one of those things is you", I admitted. She went quiet after I said that. Should I not have said that? Fuck she probably thinks I'm weird or creepy no-
"Are you going to go get them fixed", she asked snapping me out of my thoughts. "To get my eyes fixed", I asked. "Yeah once you're fully healed", she added. "Not anytime soon, maybe after we help your sister", I answered. "But don't you want to see things clearly again", she asked turning onto her side to face me making me follow in sync. I stared at her blurred face. Who knew a blurred face would still make me feel funny inside.
"I would trade my sight any day just to be near you",
It was like something just bloomed open like a flower. All those pent up feelings I felt towards Vi just came out into the opening. The feeling was so intense enough to make me forget about the burning pain in my stomach. All I felt was fuzziness yet like I was flying. Is this what love really feels like?
Vi grabbed my hand making me scoot closer towards hers. She kissed the back of my hand then placed her forehead against mines. We laid there enjoying each others company and the silence.
