The door opened revealing Caitlyn. She hurriedly closed it behind her then handed me a bottle of weird glowing purple liquid. "Is this stuff safe", I questioned. "It's either that or she dies", she replied. I turned my upper half towards Vi, who was laying down. I gently pulled down her lower lip with my thumb then poured all the liquid into her mouth. I closed her mouth making her swallow it. She let out an exhale then her eyes snapped open, they were glowing purple for a split second. She released a painful scream as she leaned forward quickly making me grab her shoulders to force her back. She let out shallow breath as I slowly laid her back down. When her back touched the wall she let out a pained gasp making me place my hands on her cheeks.
"You're okay you're okay", I whispered rubbing her face with my thumb gently. Her painful gasp began to slow down gradually. I was going to pull away, but it was like I was in a trance. It's been a while since I could see the details of someone's eyes. It's like a blur of colors mixing in with the highlights of the iris. Her eyes were alluring. I shook my head and pulled away from her.
"What's the plan", I asked Caitlyn, turning my back towards Vi. "Once Vi is back on her feet, we need to search for Jinc", Caitlyn answered then looked at Vi. I heard Vi shuffling a bit making me turn around. She swung her legs off the table she was laying on. Her wound was completely gone, as if it wasn't there in the first place.
"Right. Jinx how could I forget", Vi replied. "Who's Jinx", I asked. Now thinking about it I literally just followed him, having no clue what we're looking for in the first place. "Jinx stol something from topside, something important and dangerous", Caitlyn answered. "She killed at least 5 enforcers while getting it", she added looking away. "So now we have to be careful Silco will be wat-", Caitlyn tried to say, but stopped when we heard a metal clang outside. Along with the locals crying or grunting out. Vi stood up and began approaching the door. I slowly took my bow from my back, then grabbed an arrow and placed it in the arrow rest. I pulled it back ready to shoot at what was causing the noise outside.
Vi opened the door fully then let out a small gasp. I looked over her shoulder, seeing it was Silco. He was holding out Shimmer to the locals.
"Vander's prodigy", Silco spoke then looked up at us. "I've regretted that we never had the opportunity to speak", he confessed. Vi looked around then took a couple of steps out of the house.
"What have you done with my sister", she asked, balling her fists. "I've freed her", he answered. "Candidly, I thought you were the prize of your secondhand family", he said. "But Jinx...oh she is more than I ever imagined", he added. "Trust me she's in good hands, you could ask Y/n, she would say the same", he finished. Vi looked back at me making me take a few steps forward leaving the abandoned house.
"Just like you, I assumed she was the prize of a great mystery, hidden within these walls, but her outcast brother..", he trailed on. Zahir stepped from the shadows with a bow similar to my father's, except it was purple and more mechanical on his back.
"Was four times better than her", Zahir finished with an evil smile. "You have a brother", Vi asked looking at me. I glared harshly at my brother. If looks could kill, he would be on the ground engulfed in flames.
"I don't have a brother, never had, never will", I spat still glaring at him. He placed his hand on his chest faking a heartache.
"I'm hurt lil sis", he chuckled. I tuned out Vi's conversation with Silco, just glared at Zahir. All he did was smirk back at me. The locals that ate the shimmer Silco handed out to began morphing into huge creatures. They began closing in on me and Vi. I was about to raise my bow to shoot down the creatures, but Vi grabbed me by the arm and swung me into the house. I took rapid steps back to regain my footing. Before I could ask her why she did that she slammed her fist hard into the beam next to Caitlyn. The whole house shook rapidly, so did the huge sign on top of it.
You could hear the nails popping out of there sockets. The huge glowing sign fell off its hinges and down towards Silco and his goons. Vi, Caitlyn and I dodged all the rubble and escaped out of the abandoned home. We ran out the back and began climbing up to get back to get away from Silco. We slid down an opening full of pipes that led back to the undercity. Vi was the first out so she rushed forward and bumped into a random guy. The guy walked up to her like he wanted to fight making her shove him back. She was about to slug him. I grabbed her arm making her direct her attention towards me.
"We have to go", I fussed. She let out a sigh then turned towards the man and gave him the finger. She was about to run along with Caitlyn and I, but looked up towards the sky. I looked up to see some blurry blue cloud, it was like a flare.
"Vi what is it", I asked. She let out a few shallow breaths then turned to look at me.
"It's my sister"
