Y/n's pov
I was reading the small notebook Ekko gave me. It was filled with everything my father told Vander about us. Even had a small drawing of the tree and some of the people. Like my grandma, local farms, etc. I glanced up from the book to look over at Vi who was trying to ease things between Ekko and Caitlyn.
"So you're her", a voice said making me look over. It was a tennager; they had umber skin color, a shaved head and an eye patch. "What do you mean", I asked. "The cave girl well I mean i'm sorry I forgot your name", they chuckled rubbing the back of their neck. "It's Y/n", I replied. "Oh uh nice to meet you, I'm Sky one of the riders", they explained. "One of the riders huh, you didn't attack me did you", I chuckled. "...Well you kind of damaged my ride", they replied. "...My bad", I said causing them to chuckle. "It's no biggie I felt honored actually", they exclaimed. "You felt honored that I almost killed you", I questioned. "Of course! To be attacked by the daughter of the Great Wolf of Takbokke and by the Antorāzu", they exclaimed. "Is it true that the you know the holder makes endless amounts of arrows", they asked.
"It's true", I answered slipping the quiver off my back to hold it in front of me. I placed ont he ground in between my legs then grabbed one of the green arrows out of it. As soon as I pulled the green arrow out and another was generated in the quiver.
"Amazing... how does that work", they asked. "There's a small hole in the bottom, it sprays out green liquid that solidifies into an arrow shape which is why it's always hot", I explained. "Is that why you're fingers tips are burned all the time", they asked pointing at my hand. "Yeah you get use to it after a while", I chuckled dryly. "Man that's amazing and the story behind it's is even more amazing", they replied. "You're kind of like that guy you know Belen", they added. "How am I ", I asked. "Brave and blind", they answered. "While we're talking you've been squinting your eyes a bit", they explained while pointing at me. "My visions blurred, not fully blind though", I stated. "Even so you're still a skilled shooter", they replied. "You three must make an amazing team", they added causing me to look back at Vi, Caitlyn and Ekko. Even blurred, Vi was beautiful.
"Your girlfriend was awesome too even if she was trying to knock me out when we all were fighting", Sky chuckled making me look back at them. "Girlfriend", I questioned. "Yeah the chick with pink hair", they replied pointing at Vi. "She's not my girlfriend", I replied. "Wife then", they questioned. "No she's my friend", I stated. "....yeah yeah sure okay", they replied looking back forward. "What do you mean yeah yeah sure, she's just a friend", I fussed. "I'm just saying sure she's just a friend even though it's so obvious you like like her", they explained. "I- I'm too old to be fussing with you", I said. "For your information I'm 16", Sky stated. "You're technically still a kid", I replied. "But I'm close to adulthood, even so least I know when I'm crushing on someone", they snapped. "I'm not crushing on anybody", I snapped loudly.
"Y/n", Vi called out making me look at her. The three of them were staring at me. "You okay", Vi asked. "Yeah I'm fine", I replied quickly. Once they looked away I looked back at Sky who was struggling to hold in their laughter. I punched them hard in their arm. "OW shit", they groaned while laughing and gripping their arm.
"Don't be mad at me I'm just a kid right", they taunted. "An annoying one", I scoffed making them clutch their chest. "Oh the pain", they gasped faking grief. "Oh if you're not pissed off can I see it", they asked. I put the quiver back on my shoulder then grabbed my bottom lip to show them the tattoo.
"It really glows that's so cool", they cheered. "Were you really born with that", they asked while I released my bottom lip. "Yeah, only the children of my father", I answered. "He must've been cool", they said. "He was sometimes", I chuckled. "So everything in that notebook is accurate", they stated. "Yeah so far it is", I answered holding it up. "Good", they exclaimed then snatched it out of my hand. "I'm going to reread it then get back to you", they said quickly jumping to their feet then took off. I watched as they did then smiled to myself. That kid is too energetic, but they're too funny. I stood up and walked over to where Vi, Ekko and Caitlyn were. When I joined them Vi stared at me then looked away with a frown on her face?
"So what are we doing", I asked Caitlyn. "We're taking the gemstone back, we're going to get them to listen", she replied. "I'll be giving it to them", Ekko commented then walked away to retrieve his board.
"Y/n are your eyes okay", Caitlyn suddenly asked. "Yeah I'm fine why", I questioned. "They're not hurting or anything", she added. "Not really what's with the questions", I asked. "Is it bad for me to worry", she questioned. "No, but you're asking now", I said. "Because we're not in possible danger or getting chased, Y/n", she explained. "Oh yeah", I chuckled making her smile. "Now let me see", she said then suddenly placed her hands on my face. I took a quick breath in as she did. I never fully realized how tall Caitlyn was. She was basically towering over me.
"You're eyes are foggy and purple-ish now", she stated while moving my face slightly. "Yeah it is", I said avoiding eye contact with her. "Stop moving your eyes or I can't check", she said. "I'm fine Cait", I said breaking out of her grip. "If you say so", she sighed. "Come on let's get going", Vi said shoving her way in between us as she walked towards one of the openings where Ekko was standing at. Caitlyn and I followed her. Ekko leaned away from the wall.
"You ready", he asked us. "Not like we have a choice not to", I said. "Exactly, follow me", he said to us then entered the opening with us following closely behind him.
