Chapter Nineteen
Adele's maid zipped up the back of her dress as she looked in the mirror. Her hair pulled up into a bun with loose curls, gold dress fit for a princess, her wrists covered in pearls, and finally the tiara sitting on top of her head. She was completely in royal tradition right now.
Tonight was the elimination night and everyone had to look their absolute best. Adele was still unsure who to keep pursuing a relationship with but a little help from her journal would be enough to get her through tonight. She took a deep breath examining every part of her outfit, she had to look the part of a princess.
Every week she would have to do this, pick one man to terminate her relationship with and she wasn't sure she was ready to let anyone go. Owen quit so there went her first choice, now she had to put some deep thought into who went home. Adele felt enormous pressure since she was deciding her own fate, she hardly had any experience with men and now she was choosing one to spend the rest of her life with.
One last clip of the bracelet and she was set to go meet the group of men. "It'll be alright miss" her maid spoke up glancing at Adele through the mirror.
"Thanks Carla, I'm just so anxious. What if I make the wrong decision?"
Carla chuckled as Adele spun around to focus on her completely. "You won't dear, your mother must have told you this but once you know you know. There is only one man out there that you want, even if it may not seem clear now your heart will lead you. I promise there cannot be a wrong decision made at this point"
"But what-"
"Stop worrying miss, everything will be fine" she smiled causing Adele to grin, anyone at this point could make her feel better.
Adele nodded turning back around to let Carla take care of the finishing touches. Now today she had to let the stylist pick out her clothing, which wasn't such a bad idea this dress was gorgeous.
"Princess? Are you ready? It's time" Bill said over the intercom as Adele once again felt the anxiety rush over her.
"Coming" she called back turning on her heel to head downstairs. Carla gave her a smile before Adele shut the door closed and began the long walk down the hallway.
She just couldn't decide who to send home, she was attached to all of these men. Each one had a different personality, different qualities that she loved. Some were king material and others, just someone Adele could have fun with.
The halls were silent while Adele took one step at a time to the garden. The producers decided that they should host the elimination in the garden because of the warm summer nights. She couldn't complain, at least they weren't in her home.
When she reached the French doors of the backyard Adele took one last deep breath before swinging them open announcing she arrived. All at once the men stood up acknowledging her presence. Each one of them in a suit making sure they looked top notch.
Adele pushed down the overwhelming feeling to just run from all of this and let Shawn lead her in front of the group and the cameras. All the men smiled discreetly looking her up and down, now they got to see the princess in her.
"Good evening men, tonight is elimination night and Adele will choose who to send home" Shawn spoke up taking her hand in his while she tried to keep her emotions under control. "Now this is how this is going to work, off to the side is all the crowns Adele will place on your head. Last one standing without a crown will be sent home, ready?"
Everyone in the room nodded as Adele took one last breath to calm her nerves. Shawn let go of her hand standing to the side as he picked up one crown and handing it to her. "Princess, first choice to save"
Adele carefully scanned the faces of each man standing before her, they each appealed to a different part of her. Oliver had immunity so first choice was easy. "Oliver" she said watching his smile broaden. He walked over kneeling down so she place the crown on him.
When he stood up his lips planted a kiss on her hand as she tugged on his wrist pulling him into a hug. She really needed to just be held, with her beating heart and ball of nerves she was a mess. "You okay?" Oliver chuckled as she nodded, a quick peck to her forehead and he went back to his place.
"Oliver, congratulations" Shawn said giving Adele a smile letting her know to pick the next one.
"Hudson" she called seeing his gaze meet hers. Quickly he made his way over to her kneeling down so she could place the crown on his head.
Hudson returned back to his position with Oliver while they both wore those crowns symbolizing Adele was choosing them. Shawn nodded giving Adele another choice. "John"
Johns entire face lit up while he knelt down in front of her letting her set the crown on his head. "Thank you" he whispered leaving a small kiss on her hand.
"Wyatt" she said and he followed the few men before him.
Okay so maybe this wasn't so bad but right now she had eight choices left, eight chances to pick who she wanted. "Harrison"
"Charlie" another crown off the shelf.
"Damien"
"Dylan" she had no regrets there, he was her casual fling no real feelings towards him.
Now down to Evan and Mason, Adele took a deep breath trying to remember what she wrote in her journal. She just couldn't think of it right now, she was too focused on the two men staring right at her.
Only one crown left and she had to decide which man to keep on this show. She wasn't sure how girls did this, how they could carelessly let someone go. Shawn looped his arm around her waist which gave her the courage to choose just one.
"Evan" she breathed out watching him walk towards her with a smile on his face she never saw before. Evan knelt before her while she placed the crown on his head remembering how his hair felt between her fingers, she was right on this one.
"Well Adele has chosen ten lucky bachelors to keep pursuing the relationship with. Unfortunately Mason you are the one left without the crown, come say goodbye" Shawn announced making everyone breath out a sigh of relief.
Mason made his way over to Adele quickly wrapping her up in a hug. "I could have made you happy if you gave me the chance" he whispered while Adele nodded, she knew he wasn't ever going to be her husband.
He pulled away looking one last time into her eyes before heading off the set. Bill led him upstairs to clean out his things to get out of the house. Shawn kissed Adele's cheek handing her a small glass of champagne to celebrate with the other men. Nine more to go...
