Chapter Eight
Adele took Damien's hand as they headed out into the cool summer breeze. They were allowed to take her anywhere they wanted just as long as they notified security. She could tell he was nervous which was actually kind of cute.
They slid into the back seat of the limo with the camera crew sitting right in front of them. Adele was used to this kind of attention but this was ridiculous. They had to be there for every single moment of everyone. They were there in her living room, for every date, all her emotions and then the post date interviews.
She sighed causing Damien to look up at her. His eyes filled with worry as she gave him a reassuring smile, it wasn't his fault. He punched in where he had their date planned and the driver started the engine. It was there choice to tell Adele where they were going or not.
It looked like Damien wanted to surprise her with their first date. He took her hand again scooting a bit closer to her. She was already uncomfortable with dating all these men at once and then having it broadcast all over national television was even worse.
Adele wanted so desperately to just find someone on her own but again kings orders and there was no way she could get out of this one. Why did her grandpa even want her married that young? Why was it required she was married to take over the throne? It made no sense to her.
She could take over the country by herself, she didn't need a man by her side to help rule it. It had been years since she was involved with a guy and now she was seeing twelve. Sometimes she really wondered if her mother was sane for thinking the things she does.
The car came to a stop as Damien slid out to open her door. She stepped out taking his free arm as he led her to an open field. "Adele, I thought maybe for our first date we could do something adventurous" just as he said that four cars appeared on what looked like a track.
Raising her eyebrows at him he chuckled, "We are going to race"
"You're kidding right?" she laughed going to examine each one of the cars. She had to admit Damien had a good taste in cars.
Over the years her father and brother collected them, it was one of their favorite hobbies. Now that was something he had in common with her family. Damien joined her explaining the year, make, and model of the car also why it was one of his favorites.
The first car he told her about was a red Ferrari Enzo, one she practically fell in love with. The second, a green Lamborghini gallardo. The third a blue Porsche 911, and the fourth a silver Aston Martin.
Damien watched her very closely as she slid her hand across the door of the Ferrari. He had a feeling she would like this one, thank goodness he ordered it in time for their date. He wanted to start off the dating with a huge reaction, make the other guys work for her heart.
"Which one do you want to take out first?" he asked coming to stand behind her.
"This one" she replied pulling her lips into a smile. He nodded opening the door for her as she slid in.
Now that's definitely an image he didn't want to forget. A very hot girl sliding into a very hot car. He took a deep breath rounding the car to climb into his seat. Her eyes sparkled as she took in the interior of the car, it was small but enough room for the two of them.
Damien pushed a button to start the vehicle as the engine roared to life. She ran a hand across the dashboard feeling the vibration of power this car possessed. Why he chose to take her out racing on their first date she'd never know but she was excited about it.
"Buckle up princess" he smiled reaching over to help her adjust the harness.
She nodded giving him the okay to go so he did. He spun the tires heating them up as smoke surrounded them. Adele threw her head back laughing from that little stunt. He revved up the engine quickly accelerating on the track.
