Chapter Four
Adele walked into the producers office. Today she was going to meet all the eligible bachelors the matchmaker had chosen for her. She sighed knowing how difficult this would really be.
She knew her parents were just doing what was best for her, but really the princess on the bachelorette? It just didn't seem right. How would the kingdom view her now? She did her best to keep a positive example for everyone and going on this cheap dating show would surely ruin it.
The producers showed her into a very large room that was filled with extremely handsome men. There was to be a meet and greet before the show actually was filmed. When all the guys heard the clicking of her heels they focused their attention on Adele. She gave all of them a warm smile as she counted how many were in the room, twelve.
Twelve eligible bachelors between the ages of eighteen and twenty five. They all walked up to her one by one introducing themselves. The producers had told the men to state their names, age, and a little something about themselves as she talked with them.
The first man that walked up bowed to Adele as she mimicked his motion. He was about her height with dark brown hair and dark hazel eyes. "Hello princess, I'm Damien. I'm twenty two years old and my favorite hobby is racing cars"
"Nice to meet you Damien" she replied holding out her hand as he reached down giving her knuckles a quick kiss.
He walked away to the other side of the room while Adele waited for the next guy to introduce himself. Great this is going to be a long afternoon, she thought glancing at all the men.
Next a young man approached her, "Good afternoon princess, my name is Harrison. I'm twenty years old and I own a small bridal boutique"
"It's a pleasure to meet you Harrison" she smiled letting him kiss the top of her hand. It was taught that when you met a girl the man was supposed to bring his lips to her hand, that was proper etiquette.
Harrison walked away obviously smitten with Adele. It wasn't hard she was the definition of beautiful. As soon as he made his way over to Damien, the next guy introduced himself.
"Your highness it's an honor to be standing in front of you" he bowed as she followed. Adele was always respectful, she never thought she was higher than anyone else. "I am Charlie, eighteen years old, and my favorite place is the Oceanside"
"Nice to meet you Charlie" she smiled once again as he lifted her hand up to his lips. He walked off joining the other men who had already introduced themselves to her.
So far only one guy has really caught her attention. He was attractive, Adele was just not ready for a serious life long relationship. She couldn't wait for this afternoon to be over, it just wasn't her cup of tea to be wined and dined by handsome young men.
Charlie walked over to the group of guys when the next one stood in front of her, "Good evening princess. I'm Anthony, nineteen years old, and I collect antique model cars"
"Nice to meet you too Anthony" she smiled, her cheeks getting sore from having to do so many times."Princess, my name is Wyatt. I'm twenty years old and live with my family consisting of my parents, two sisters, and grandmother"
"Good to meet you Wyatt" she had a genuine smile on her face now. This guy seemed to be very family orientated which she was already in love with.
Adele looked down at the ground, taking a deep breath. Wouldn't this meeting ever end? When she looked back up she smiled even wider when she saw who was standing in front of her.
"John!" she exclaimed pulling him into a hug. He laughed nervously as everyone else stared in the direction of her voice. "What are you doing here?"
"The same reason every other guy is here" he smiled shyly.
She couldn't stop smiling, her good friend was trying to win her heart. He lifted her hand up to his lips as he kissed her knuckles. She wrapped him up in another hug before he walked into the group of other men.
Another young eligible approached her as he quickly took her hand in his. "Princess Adele I'm Mason, twenty three years old and I'm from the region of Spain" he smiled as she chuckled, that was a Spanish accent?
"Pleasure Mason" she let him kiss her knuckles as he walked away with the others.
The next man headed towards her, how many were there? "Hello princess I'm Owen and I love riding horses, I'm twenty one years young and would love to take you out" he winked at her making Adele flinch back, she already knew he was a player.
"Nice meeting you" she said with her most sincere smile. She didn't like this guy already. When he walked over to the other men she was glad.
A strong voice snapped her out of her daze as she watched John interact with the guys. "Hi princess, I'm Hudson. I'm twenty three years old and I work in the fields"
"Good for you Hudson, its a pleasure meeting you" she smiled once again looking at the three men left.
"Your highness" the next man bowed as she mirrored his gesture. "I'm Oliver, eighteen years old, and I'm working on getting my masters degree in medical science"
"Nice to meet you Oliver, best of luck in college" He smiled back another one heading into the group.
Next one, "Good evening princess Adele. I'm Dylan, twenty four years old and I'm a bartender"
"Pleasure to meet you Dylan"
Only one more to go, he walked over to her and grabbed both of her hands. She was a bit surprised at his gesture but put a smile on her face. "Hello princess I'm Evan, twenty years old, and I hunt as a hobby"
"Nice to meet you Evan" she continued smiling as she watched him walk to the group of men.
Adele focused on each one of them as they conversed with one another. So far she had her sights set on four out of the twelve, this wasn't going to be easy. She knew she needed to marry a gentleman worthy of being king. Why was dating so complicated? Well she was about to find out.
