**********The Next Day*********
Carlson Whyte Residence Austin Texas
Myles came by today. We were all very excited. The engagement party was tomorrow.

I sat in the living area with Carrie and Chloe, catching up on each other's life when the doorbell rang. I answered it.
"Aunt Ava! Renata!"
I looked down and noticed two little angels smiling at me.
"Oh hello you little cuties." Then I realised we were still at the door.
"Oh sorry, my manners. Please do come in."
I ushered them to the living area.

"It's a pleasant surprise," I remarked.
" I wouldn't miss my favourite niece's wedding for anything." Aunt Ava stated
"Ouch. I'm hurt."
"Oops, wrong twin."
Everyone burst into laughter.
"Come here, Jayla." Aunt Ava embraced me.

Aunt Ava has been mum's best friend forever. She's a top architect working with one of the leading Real Estate companies in the country. You'd fall in love with any one of her designs once you set eyes on them. She was a master at her job with a sharp creative eye.

She has a really beautiful daughter Renata who is like an elder sister to Jason, Jael and me. Renata is a barrister. She is married and has two really cute kids.

Sadly, they live in Seattle and we don't get to see them a lot.

I went upstairs to inform Mum and ushered them to the family room.
When Renata asked whether we could babysit her kids while they went ahead to see mum.
"Yes!"
"Sure!"
"Of course!"
Chloe, Carrie and I said almost simultaneously. Could you blame us, little Ava and Derek were just the cutest! And they were just four and two.

I walked into the family room.
"Mum will be down in a minute."

********Back in the living area*********

"Is everything set for tonight?" Chloe inquired
"Yep," Carrie replied
"I still have to check on her again to see whether she's still coming." I let on.
"We have to invite Melanie too I think they're best friends now," Carrie suggested
"Yeah, that's an awesome idea." I opined.

*********A few hours later*********
I sat outside with Myles sipping on fresh orange juice.
"How are you feeling?" I asked him.
"I'm very excited, no doubt but sometimes with all the preparations and everything happening so fast I get scared a little. I just pray Jael is taking it easy. These things tend to overwhelm her very quickly. I hope she doesn't fall under the weight."

I understand where Myles was coming from. His rejected proposal took a toll on him. Jael is a very sensitive and emotional person but I know God has a perfect plan for them and He'll make sure it's accomplished in their lives.

Just then a call came through. It was for Myles.
"Excuse me for a moment princess."
He got up and took some steps away."

He was standing within a couple of feet that I couldn't help but overhear his end of the conversation.
"Myles."
"H-hey."
"She's with you, isn't she?
"Yep."
"*sigh* How is she?"
"She seems extremely excited today but I see through that mask. You know how very concealing she can be at times. But really, you have to come back. What about all those plans you made?"
"She doesn't want me."
"That's what you think. Come on, I never knew you as a quitter, especially with the things that you want."

Myles returned to his seat.
"That was Kaiden wasn't it?"
Myles was a bit confused
'Is it just I or those two can sense each other from a mile away.?'

***********That Night**********
Chloe and I added the finishing touches to the decor. The gazebo was looking fantastic. We picked that spot because it was Jael's favourite spot in the house after her mini lab of course. We hoped to make this night one of the best; one she'd cherish forever.
"So how are things between you and Eli?" Chloe asked.
"We're fine. I don't get to see him often but when we do meet up we make the most of it."
"Jayla, I know I was in full support of your relationship with Eli but as a friend, I can't help but noticed that you've lost your glow."
I reflected on her statement.
"Are you really happy with Eli? Jayla, I was wrong about Kaiden. Whitney clarified everything and as a sister and friend I have to make it right."
"Chloe, I'd rather yo-
"Jayla, life is too short to live without the one you love and especially an amazing guy like Kay who God has revealed and approved."
