******Cambridge, Massachusetts******
Harvard campus

It's been two years since Myles and Jael got back from their honeymoon trip to Hawaii. I'm just so happy for my sister.

They just had twin boys- Declan and Damien a couple of weeks ago which means...

... I'm officially an aunt. Yipee!
I'm so excited. She's finally getting her happily ever after.

I almost forgot. Aunt Mia and Uncle Xavier tied the knot sometime last year. It was a quiet ceremony.

Carrie decided that life was too short to continue dwelling in the past. Her dad will forever remain in her heart but her mum deserved a shot at happiness too and if that was with Uncle Xavier, she'd respect that.

The last attack shook her badly. It reminded her of when she'd lost her dad. You never know what could happen. She decided to savour every moment with her mum and Melvin.

It's also been two years since the attack.
Nick died before they got him to the hospital. Lana, Liam and Brian have been put away in prison for a very long time.
They had to pay for their many crimes at some point.

Karl Torres wanted so much to get his son out of this but his hands were tied.
It was either he gets involved and is seen as an accomplice or just lets justice have its way.

Two years since dad escaped death again by a hair's breadth. We're still so thankful to God for his life.
We almost lost him but he is still very weak.
He's recuperating though, not as fast as we want him to, but we're grateful.

Okay. Where did we get to?...
Right.

Two years since I got admission into Harvard Medical School. If I keep up my good grades, I could join the graduating class this year. I'm beyond thrilled.

And ooh...
It's also been two years since Kaiden and I started dating and believe me, those two years have been the best two years in my life.

We decided to do this whole dating thing again but this time with Jesus. Not fixing Him someplace in our relationship but rather building our love around Him.

We made sure He was at the centre of every stage in our life together and He guided our every step even through our friendship and then relationship. We discovered Jesus together.

We took time off to build ourselves, learn from each other and seek the will of God in our friendship. We prayed together requesting the Holy Spirit's direction and wisdom in our relationship. We had good counsel from those ahead of us.

The Father Himself watered our love and we blossomed in the peace, joy and happiness of the LORD.

Classes were over and I was walking to my car when I had a text.
It was Kaiden.

K: Dinner. My treat. 9 pm.
J: Hello to you too. I'm doing fine, by the way.

I laughed to myself.
Three...
Two...
One...

My phone rang.
"Thought you had a tutorial at 3?" Kaiden inquired
"Hi, again."
"Pff. Your tutorial got rescheduled?"
"Yep.
"So where are you off to now?"
"It's my turn to babysit the twins."
"Good luck with that."
"Thanks. I need it."

We spoke for a while. I ended the call and steered my Porsche Panamera to the Waterfront Community, Boston.

Myles had some work in Boston and so both he and Jael with the twins were staying over at the Torres' new apartment building in Waterfront.

Once I reached their apartment, I was greeted by my mum.
"Mum? What are you doing in Boston?"
"Oh, your dad and I are here to take care of some procurement issues at Pink& Blue nothing to worry about."
"Dad's here too? But you could have just left that to Jael and me." I continued
"You two didn't need to fly here. Is daddy even strong enough to be making these kinds of flights?"

Mum let on a sad smile.
"You two have enough on your plate. Jael is still learning how to juggle her career with marital life along with two babies...
"And you... you are nearing the end of med school. Your exams are quickly approaching and I know how so stressed you've been."
"Besides, your dad wanted to get out of that house. He begged to take him along. It gets lonely being cooped up in your room all day."

I could only sigh. I loved my parents so much and I'm so touched that they go out of their way to make us comfortable.

I took over and allowed my mum to rest. Myles got home at about half past seven and I hurried home to get ready for my dinner out with Kaiden.

**********
After about an hour and a half, I had a phone call. It was Kaiden. I checked the time. Exactly 9 pm.
Mhmm. Quite the punctual one.
I answered it.

"Hey."
"Hey. I'm downstairs. Are you ready?"
"Yes. I'll be there in 5."

I got down to the car park in a deep rose one-sleeve sequin dinner dress and headed towards the silver Bentayga.

He got out to help me in and I noticed him gape in sheer admiration.
"You look amazing."
"You cleaned up nice too."

We drove about a mile away from the Edmunton building when he steered through the driveway to a magnificent building right here in Beacon Hill.

Once, he helped me out, I inquired.
"What's this place?"
"We're having dinner on the rooftop."
"You didn't answer me."
"Come on." He held my hand and dragged me along.

The rooftop was exquisitely decorated. The floor was covered in a thick but kinda soft grass turf with lots of my favourite white rose petals spread flawlessly on it. They created a beautiful alley.

Potted plants were positioned and so were lots of scented candles which set the tone. There was soft music playing in the background.

A cantilever-roofed gazebo was set up with beautiful flowing curtains and ribbons and some flowers wounded around its stands.
The moonlight pierced through the partially opened roof and the night sky seemed even brighter tonight.

There were bouquets of white roses everywhere and it all came together to create this amazing garden with a romantic touch.

"Wow.." was all I could mutter.
"You outdid yourself this time, mister."
Kaiden chuckled.
"This way." He said confidently leading me to the table and a waiter quickly served our meal.

Shrimp Scampi Pasta. It was delicious. We ate with relish.

We spent some time laughing and chatting and laughing more.

And then the music slowed.
Kaiden motioned me to the dancefloor.
"May I have this dance, my lady?"
"I don't see why not."

Taking my hand in his, my head resting gently on his chest and locked in each other's embrace, we danced.

But then he broke away slowly.
And then going down on one knee while retrieving a small red box from his pocket, I gasped for air.

"Jayla Carlson Whyte, would you marry me?"
