it was going to be a new start for deena. she was gonna miss her original home in canada but she decided that maybe it would be the best time to change things up in her life and start off with something new.

"deena, you in here?" a very recognizable voice said from outside of the room. it was deena's boyfriend, kurt miller. he was a movie director meaning that he's really well known for his good movies that he directs.

"yeah! come in!" deena yelled, resulting to kurt coming in her room with a cake.

"you ready for tomorrow?" kurt asked with a slight chuckle.

"ready? well, i wouldn't say completely but i'm half ready." deena said. "are you still okay with me leaving?"

"okay? no yeah i'm totally fine with it. it's only going to be a year so there's no problem at all." kurt said with a nod and placing the cake down on the table. "sooo, i was thinking maybe we could hang out before your flight tomorrow since we won't be able to have that chance when you leave."

deena smiled. "i'd love that. so what are we waiting for? let's go!"

"i still can't believe that you're going to be gone." kurt said with a sigh. "wish i could come with you but i'm really busy with shoots and interviews. and a lot of red carpets."

deena smiled and laughed. "well, at least that isn't as bad as my business. i have to go to a whole new school with new people i don't know who. but i'm sure i'll get used to it."

"can you promise me one thing?" kurt asked.

"sure. what is that?"

"when you arrive there you will never forget me. or us. our relationship will stay the way it is no matter how far away we are."

deena nodded her head. "of course. i wouldn't even dare to try and do anything like that."

"good, good." kurt muttered under his breath.

-

"is everything packed?" kurt asked as he sat on deena's bed and looking around the empty room.

"almost." deena answered. "all this packing is exhausting." she whined and laying down her bed to take a break. "it feels like packing is more tiring that the actual boarding part."

kurt chuckled. "well, it'll all pay off in the end. and besides, i'm sure georgia will be great."

"hmm. i don't know. what if the people in my school don't like me?" deena asked with a slight panic in her voice.

"you'll be fine." kurt said. "just think of it like here. except it's hot."

deena smiled brightly. "i'm gonna miss the snow a lot. but it'd be great to visit a beach once in a while."

"see? you're going to be fine there. just remember our promise." kurt said.

"how could i forget?" deena said, staring at the ceiling.

"who's going to pick you up? do you even have a plan?" kurt asked.

"oh yeah! i have a really close friend that used to live here. she's gonna have me stay at her place for this year." deena answered.
