everyone headed home as it was now around 12:00 o'clock in the middle of the night. sam and deena didn't bring a car so they had to walk home out in the dark themselves.
deena shivered once the cold air hit her skin whenever the wind would blow towards them.
"are you cold?" sam asked, noticing deena look a bit uncomfortable.
"just a bit."
sam took her jacket off and gave it to deena.
deena playfully rolled her eyes and put the jacket on. "how cliché of you."
-
after a few minutes later, the two girls finally arrived to the apartment.
"well, this day has been fun." sam said, looking at deena. every time she would look at deena she would have this weird feeling in her stomach. butterflies if that was the right term for it.
"yeah." deena said with a chuckle. "i should probably get going now."
sam nodded her head. "totally. see you tomorrow?"
deena smiled as she nodded her head as well. "yeah. see you tomorrow." she looked at sam one more time and couldn't help but notice how nervous she looked.
once deena went inside the apartment, a smile started to form on sam's face.

"when are you ever actually going to tell her what you're feeling? it's been months, sam. is it really that difficult to tell someone you like them?" kate said. her, simon and sam were hanging out beside the lockers which was their go to kinda place whenever they wanted to talk about something important. it was basically their secret lair. except it wasn't exactly a secret.
"i don't think i'm telling her anytime soon. i don't even know how i'm going to do it." sam said, looking down again.
"we'll set up a way for you guys to be alone." kate suggested.
"what? no! i just met her." sam said with panic.
"you have to stop using that excuse. it's been months, sam." simon laughed.
"shit." sam muttered under her breath. "alright. kate, what do you have in mind?"
-
"okay, what do i say?" sam asked as she opened up her and deena's messages.
it was always deena asking if she wanted to hang out but they weren't exactly real dates, they would only really go to parks and regular places like that.
"do i say hello?" sam asked kate and simon.
kate let out a laugh and shook her head in disbelief. "what are you? a fucking facebook mom?" she took sam's phone and started doing the job herself.
-
-
kate gave sam's phone back with a smile. "you're welcome, blondie."
"was the smiley face really necessary?" sam rolled her eyes, turning off her phone as she cringed badly to the message kate made.
"yeah! show her that you actually give a fuck about her." kate said.
"i do care about her." sam replied. "a lot."
the group was silent until sam noticed what she had said.
sam covered her face, shaking her head in embarrassment. "greatly done, samantha." her voice was muffled but it was clear enough for kate and simon to hear which caused the two of them to laugh.
