the school bell rang and as soon as deena was about to exit the school, sam was able to catch up to her.

"hey." sam quietly said with a light smile. she didn't want to make things awkward and weird since deena wasn't exactly feeling good at the moment.

"hey, sam." deena mumbled.

it hurt sam since usually deena would joke around and always come to school with a bright smile. but now it was like she was an entirely different person.

"heard about what happened." sam started. "i'm really sorry."

"it's fine. he was an asshole that only cared about himself." deena said with a slightly stern voice.

"right." sam made it a bit awkward by mentioning deena's breakup which made the two girls silent.

"well, if you want to talk i'm here."

deena smiled, looking up at sam since she was about two inches taller. the blonde girl noticed the way her eyes looked. it seemed like deena hadn't slept in a long time.

"i'm okay on my own." deena said with a bit more breath than usual.

all of a sudden deena starts stumbling which caused her to fall right onto sam. luckily sam was able to catch her from falling down.

"yeah, you seem very okay. let's get you home, okay?" sam said in a comforting way but deena shook her head as a no.

"i wanna stay with you." deena mumbled quietly. it was a good thing sam was still able to understand what she was saying.

"wanna stay with me, huh?" sam laughed. "alright, alright. let me handle this, okay?"

sam carefully lead deena to her car and drove to her house.

"sorry, i'm just so tired and i never get any sleep at all." deena groaned.

"it's okay, deena. just a few more steps." sam replied as she took deena to her bedroom.

deena flopped onto sam's bed and once she hit the mattress, she drove fast to sleep.

sam sat on the other side of the bed and smiled lightly. there's no way she could be catching feelings right now but the way deena looked just made sam feel a certain way she had never felt before.

sam rushed to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. "yup. i could be catching feelings." she whispered to herself. "come on, sam. you're not supposed to like her. you hated her the first time and all of a sudden you change your mind?" sam said as she talked to herself.
