"it's weird that they hung out. what if they're dating?" nick asked.

"why though? after so many years why is sam being nice now?" tommy questioned as he looked at the group.

deena looked back at sam to see that the blonde girl kept glaring at her. "she's still glaring at me. jeez."

"she must like your face." nick laughed. "she's a lesbian so she might like you."

"i'm in a relationship so that's not happening." deena said, shaking her head.

"really? who?"

"you know kurt miller? the director who makes a lot of good movies?"

"your boyfriend is famous?" tommy and nick exclaimed a little too loudly for sam and her table to hear.

"yes, yes, he is." deena said.

"you guys free after school?" cindy spoke up as everyone nodded.

"what if we have a friends day out? just so we can talk somewhere a little more quiet and peaceful." cindy asked.

"i don't know, i have to talk to my b-"

"come on, deena. you talked to him yesterday, right? and this is the only time that we can hang out without a glaring blonde eyeing our table." cindy said as deena chuckled softly.

"alright, alright." deena finally agreed. "you know what? i'm gonna go talk to her." she said, standing up and walking towards sam.

"deena, deen- well, fuck." cindy sighed.

"sam, right? i have realized that the past two days you've been staring or rather glaring at me in every class. care to explain why?" deena said with a sarcastic smile. "is it a staring problem?"

sam rolled her eyes and looked down on the table. "no, it's not."

"then why do you keep looking at me?"

sam looked at kate and simon for a signal of help but they couldn't get the gist.

"hello?"

"can you please leave me alone? if you have a problem with me then leave."

"me? having a problem with you? i honestly don't care about you at all."

"i think you do." sam muttered quietly.

"i'm sorry?"

"nothing."

deena turned back around and sat back down with cindy and the others.

"wow, that was terrific." simon said as he started laughing. "that went well. anyways, you've got yourself an enemy, sam."

"wait, quick question. if you hate her so much then why do you look at her a lot? because from what i remember when you hate someone you try your hardest to get away from them." kate explained.

"are you saying that i like her?" sam asked.

"maybe." kate shrugged.

"i don't."

"sure, sam."

-

"so what happened back there?" cindy asked deena.

"nothing, just talked to sam about her weird behaviour around me." deena answered.

"did she get mad?"

"well, she did have an attitude." deena said. "i don't know what made her hate me so much."

"best thing to do is ignore her." cindy suggested.

deena sighed, looking at sam and turns out that the blonde girl stopped and focused her attention on her friends.

"wow, i guess she really did listen." deena said.
