Harry POV
On our walk back we were just talking and he was asking questions about Katy, which is understandable. One thing I purposefully kept a secret was that Katy cardiologist was going to come see her just bc he wanted to double check everything was alright with her since her last appt. Not that I think anything is going to be wrong but don't want to get him worked up over nothing. But she also does not know
"Katy should be back in her room now. I will stay the night with her, I want you to go home, shower, clean the house, and be normal again and come up tomorrow afternoon. She doesn't have chemo tomorrow. She will more than likely be sleeping from the surgery just go home and be normal please I promise she will be fine. And you don't get to fight me on this because you are doing it or else I will call security on you :)."
"Fine whatever you say but the moment the clock turns 12 I will be here"
"and thats fine"
Now that he's gone I can go talk to Katy I think by now that meds have worn off and she should be alright to talk. I just doing want him here during her appt. That she won't know about.
"Hey Kate you good" I say as I'm entering her room, haven't been in here in a hot minute. She has really decorated it. With TONS of bright colors. But thats her personality so I cant say I'm surprised
"Yea just trying to remember everything. It's just kinda blur. Everything happened so fast. Wait where's Ni?
"I sent him home for the night you and I are having a sleepover tonight."
"Oh, thank you. He needs to go home. No offense to him but he wasn't looking to good. I feel bad about that because its all my fault"
"oh my gosh Kate, be quiet. Its not your fault he's a grown man. He knows how to take care of himself. He just lets emotions get in the way of rational thinking. Anyways Ashton canceled your chemo for tomorrow so you have an extra day to rest. But as your friend I think we should get up and try to walk around a little in the afternoon."
"that sounds great"
"ok perfect, how about we put on a movie"
"perfect"
The rest of the night went on swimmingly. As I expected she fell asleep during the movie. The hard part was getting out of her bed. She had both arms around me but I didn't want to wake her up. She has her appt at 10. But she usually gets up at 9/9:30 so that should be not problem.
We ended up waking up at 8 so even better. We walked down and got breakfast. The walk was silent and the walk back was too. I think she's in a bit of pain so her nurses gave her some more medicine. And then we watched movies the rest of the morning, while she did crafts
"Hey stranger" She said as Luke walked in
"Hey I heard you were in the hospital so I just wanted to stop and make sure everything is alright"
"Oh did haz tell you?"
"No, actually Ashton did. Him, cal, and I are housemates but he told me as your cardiologist so I could monitor you closer with chemo and everything"
"Oh ok, yea makes sense"
"Is it fine with you if I do a check up real quick"
"yea totally"
"Ok lets go to my office, let me get you a wheel chair first. And Harry, want to join."
"Only if Kate is fine with it"
"yea I'm ok with it"
Luke finds a wheel chair and we make out way down toward the cardiology clinic
"ok a nurse will do your EKG and then we will just do our normal check up and then you can head back up to your room. Sound good?"
"yea sure"
Luke takes Kate and I into a private room and tells her to change into a gown, knowing Kate that isn't going to happen and naturally she declined. No surprise. Once Luke left the room to go help other patients it was just Kate and I.
"I know you had a part in this" (K)
"Me? puhhh no." I say with a sarcastic tone
"From the moment he entered the door, he had trouble written all over him."
"what's so bad about people wanting what's best for you"
"I don't think thats the problem. I think its the fact I was looking forward to one day where im not having to be poked and prodded and messed with by doctors"
"yea I guess I understand that. Im sorry"
" you're fine, you can just make it up later"
"how? by getting me lunch from some place other then this hospital"
"fair"
1 Week Later *Katy POV*
"Ni, I think I need something to help keep me entertained"
"Uh, ok random"
"Im thinking the titanic lego set"
"oh wow, seems like I cant really say no"
"no I actually already ordered it. It will keep me entertained while you're on tour"
"I already told you, you have so many people wrapped around your finger. You will be fine without me."
"I know but a woman can miss her husband.Anyways I love you, I gotta go or else Ashton will have by butt. This is the 3rd time this week I'm late for chemo"
*Niall POV*
and with that Katy left
I won't see her for 3 months
She seems ok with me leaving because she understands it part of my job
I went back to the house to grab my suitcase, my stylist has already packed my dress clothes. Ashlyn is taking me to the airport. The ride was long , of course traffic is bad on a random Tuesday afternoon. Made it through security then sat waiting for my manager and friends. It wasnt soon after Katy had texted me that she was done with chemo and headed back to her room to sleep.
So I guess this is our life now.
