Katy's pov
Harry comes and sits on the bed at my ankles. I have Niall in a chair next to me holding my hand. "So there is no easy way of saying this...but you have cancer." Harry said. At that moment everything in me went numb. I didn't say anything I just kept staring at Harry because I didn't know what to say. He kept talking but I honestly zoned him out and can now only focus on the fact that I have cancer. "Babe you will be ok because I will be here with you every step of the way" Niall says. My stare turns from Harry to Niall and I still don't know what to say. "You know you can say something" Niall says. "I...I...I... don't know...I don't know what to say" As I start saying that tears start falling rapidly down my face. Harry scoots up and hugs me and Niall starts crying too. Harry whispers in my ear "everything will be alright." " But what if I die Harry?" I say. "Off the record, you won't die, not if i'm your doctor" He reply's.
"I will give you guys sometime alone, I will come back in a couple hours and discuss treatment plans with you" Harry says. "Thank you" Niall says. We spend the next couple hours cuddling and crying. Just trying to take it all in. I call Char and Noel and let them know what is happening. The next thing I need to do is find a replacement for me since it sounds like I will be out for a while. "Knock Knock" Harry says as he is entering the room. "Oh it's you again" I said. "What's so wrong about me?" He asks with a sarcastic tone. "Last time I saw you, you told me I had cancer, why would I want to see you again?" I say. "Fair point" Harry says back.
"I was hoping to start chemo tomorrow and we will start with 1 round and re asses from there" Harry says. "Can I still work?" I ask. He takes a deep breath "Yes,BUT after you get your chemo you HAVE to take 2 days off." Harry says. "Deal" I say. " Why don't we just do it on Friday's so I have the weekend to rest?" I say. "Good idea, I will put a note in to only schedule on Friday's" Harry says. "Ok you have had a long day I'm gonna let you get some rest so you can head home after chemo tomorrow." Harry says
The rest of the night Niall and I just kept good company with each other and watched disney movies. The next morning I woke up super sick and couldn't keep anything down. Harry thinks it's the meds from yesterday. Even though I'm nauseous and can't keep anything down Harry still wants me to start chemo today. I swear sometimes I love him and others I want to murder him.
Niall starts to pack up everything so we can go home once i'm done. Harry wants me to take the rest of the week off so I can rest since we don't know how my body is going to react to the medicine.
Harry brings the chemo in and hooks it up to my IV. "If you get sleepy don't resist it. Also I don't want you putting too much strain on your body since you are already not feeling the best today I'm going to put you on bed rest" Harry said. "Harry." I say with a whiny tone. "I don't need you putting to much strain on your body especially since it is already so vulnerable and we are adding chemo I am not taking my chances" Harry says. "Thank you Harry" Niall says as Harry starts to leave the room.
The next hour or so goes by somewhat fast. Ash came to visit and did my hair for me. She put it in french braids since that was easy for Niall to pull out of the way while I threw up. The chemo was finally done and Harry let us go home. Never in my entire life would I have thought that this would be my life. The only bad part is Niall leaves for the first leg of his tour in about a month and I will still be doing chemo during that time so he has to figure out if he should cancel or postpone the tour.
*Its now monday*
It's finally monday which means I can finally go back to work. Never in a million years did I think I would be this happy to wake up at 6 in the morning. I wake up take my meds,shower, and you know get ready for the day. I go down stairs to make my lunch and There were flowers sitting on the counter, Niall must've gotten them after I went to sleep. Today isn't going to be a horrible day because Harry is also supposed to be coming in today. So, I make my lunch and eat breakfast and start heading to work. The drive the slow but that's probably just because I'm excited. I pull in and there are more cars then usual but today is a pretty tight schedule so I figure everyone is coming in early to get a head start. I grab my lunch and backpack with everything. I walk in and hear "SURPRISE" coming from everyone. They all surprised me and got me flowers to welcome me back to work and some gifts for the journey I have ahead of me.
The morning went by super fast but I think that's just because I never got a break it was just back to back to back with patients. It was finally lunch time so I went to our office and got my lunch and sat at the table. Noel and Char came and sat with me and we at lunch and talked. I wanted Noel to put my hair in french braids so I took my scrub cap off and took it out of the bun. She started to braid it and then some hair started to come out. It took everything in me not to cry because I am just now realizing how real it is all becoming. Harry was my next appointment anyways and I didn't want him to notice my blood shot eyes so I figured I would just wait until I get home. She finishes braiding my hair and we just continued to talk until I get the notification Harry checked in. I was kinda surprised because I didn't remind him so made me a little happy he showed up with out me reminding him.
