Days After Until Dawn: 15

What to do? What could he possibly do in the hospital? Absolutely nothing.

Emily had been a frequent visitor in his room. He never got the chance to ask why. She seemed flustered by some of the things he said. Which he found strange since she was never like that usually.

She walked into his room and gave him a nod as she placed down some breakfast. She had been getting him food ever since her first visit.

Right as she placed the food down, her phone began to ring. He heard her answer it and it was a call from Chris. He felt his stomach knot. It had been so long since he had seen Chris.

He didn't apologize. He knew that he hadn't. Because the longing in his chest was still there. No matter what they had been through, he and Chris had always stayed friends.

Emily came back into the room, putting her phone back into her pocket. Her face had turned white. Josh immediately knew that something was wrong.

"What happened?" He asked her.

She shook her head and sat down without saying anything.

He leaned forward and put his hand on her shoulder.

The doctors had taken off his restraints on his legs and now he was free to move around his bed without restriction. He still had that camera on him at all times. But even if that was gone, he was never alone. Not for too long anyway.

Emily was always hanging around in his room. And even when she was gone, the thoughts that told him to forget everything were gone. They never came back.

If he was going to forget everything, then his time spent with Emily would be forgotten too. That's the last thing that he wanted.

"Emily." He said. She flinched at the sound of her name. She had her hands on her face and he couldn't even see her eyes.

She looked like she was shivering. He was on high alert. He wondered what had been on the phone that had shaken her up so much. He had never seen her so afraid. Then again, he had never seen her afraid. She was usually the calmest out of all of them when something bad happened. But this, he thought, was a whole other animal. A monster.

"What happened?" He asked.

Her hands went onto her lap.

"It was Chris." She said.

Chris. He looked down at the mention of his name. It was like mentioning him, brought Chris into the room. And Josh wouldn't know what to say if he came.

"Sam's missing. Mike went to go look for her but it's been hours since anyone heard from him and they have no idea where either of them are now." She explained.

Josh shrugged his shoulders, trying to rid the feeling of dread that he felt. Not just for Sam, but for
Mike too. He and Mike had never really been the best of friends but he knew how important he was to Sam.

And Sam, she was missing. Just like Hannah and Beth had been. And look what happened to the two of them.

"Well, what do we do?" He asked her.

She looked up at him and gave him a look. "You aren't doing anything. You need to rest. I won't go off and try to look for them and I don't think that any of the others should either." She said.

Josh nodded. He wanted to argue with her but he knew that, deep down, she was right. Going out there again, for any of them, was suicide. He knew that. He was sure that everyone else did too.

But that didn't answer his question as to why Sam thought it would be a good idea to go. Especially by herself.

Josh took a deep breath and then looked up at Emily.
