You sat blank-faced in Mr. Aizawa's class, zoning out into your own little world. You couldn't focus all thanks to Kirishima and the idiot of a class president, Iida.

Earlier that week, Iida had reported your skills to Aizawa first period. This morning, Aizawa decided to host a mock mission to assess your ability to fight quirk on quirk with other students. Kirishima was present at that meeting, and much to your dismay, he encouraged the idea. You seemed to be the only person in that room who disagreed. You didn't want your classmates to see you fight because you knew you were going to embarrass yourself.

It was now last period, and you had 15 more minutes until you became the new girl embarrassment. You had been in school long enough to know and understand everyone's quirks. Your classmates like Bakugo or Deku you could never beat you concluded, Sero and Mina would be a good fight, it was hard to guess who would win that match.

Even though Aizawa said the mock mission would be short, just a quick teacher assessment, you doubted your abilities. You didn't have a big or flashy quirk that was powerful. You had to admit, your quirk wasn't lame, it was strong and made would make you a great asset to any team, but it just didn't have the it factor like others.

You walked silently alongside Kirishima who was chatting away with Deku, you knew full well that his name was midoriya but it was easier to call him by his childhood nickname. He kept going on and on about the mock battle. "I heard Aizawa was going to have a small team of villains that would go up against Y/N and a few teammates. Pretty cool huh?"

Deku clapped excitedly, no doubt eager to add onto the pages in his notebook. You, on the other hand, felt nauseous at the thought and were only able to give a weak nod. Kirishima looked over at you worriedly.

"Don't worry Y/N. You will do fantastic, just like you did with Iida and me a few days ago." He wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

Deku scurried in front of you, walking so he was facing towards you. You flashed you a supportive grin that spread from ear to ear. "You'll do great. I just know you will."

"Thanks, guys. I just hope I don't have to go up against Bakugo or even you Deku. You guys are out of my league."

Deku blushed while shaking his head. "Nonsense. We are all in the same league. I haven't seen your quirk, but I can feel in my gut it is super awesome."

"Thanks for the cheer up guys." You said while chuckling. "I think I will kick some ass!"

The mock mission had begun. There were two teams: Team Red were the heroes and Team Blue were the villains. You were on Team Blue along with Iida and Denki. Team Red had Sero, Kirishima, and Bakugo. The other 1A students were to sit back and observe. Each team had 15 minutes of planning strategies for winning. The scenario was that the villains were trying to capture the #1 hero, played by Mina. The heroes had to guard Mina who was protected inside one of the buildings in the fake city.

Your team took little time to plan because positions were a no-brainer. You were undoubtedly defense, while Iida and Denki were the perfect options for offense. Iida and Denki explained to aim at Bakugo first because his explosions could end the fight faster than it started. Iida was going to handle Kirishima and Denki was going to go after Sero.

Aizawa turned on the microphone and announced the start of the match. "Alright. Team Red and Team Blue get into your positions. Villains prepare to attack." Your classmates in the stands waited for Aizawa to say begin. After a minute, he finally announced, "Begin."

You got into a proper stance. Your weapon of choice was the same gun as last time, just bullets that paralyzed the target for five minutes. You kept an eye out for Bakugo, waiting for his banger of an entrance. Meanwhile, Iida and Kirishima were facing off.

Iida began to throw kicks and punches at Kirishima, aiming for any weak spots or hoping to hit Kirishima when his quirk wasn't as strong. Kirishima deflect each blow, however, a few brutal kicks to the chest sent the poor redhead flying backward. Quickly recovering, Kirishima charged at Iida, swiping a hardened hand at his face. You wanted to aid Iida by shooting Kirishima, but your tranquilizer would not break through his hard skin.

You turned your attention to Denki, who was at the mercy of Sero. You didn't want to interfere quite yet, trying to give Denki a chance. Sero had entangled Denki in his tape, hanging poor Denki upside down on a lamp post. Denki squirmed, which only twisted him further. He sent electricity shocks from his hands at Sero, but they only stunned him. Denki was still trapped and now you decided it was time to aid him. You used your quirk to see Sero clearly. You aimed and "Bang." Sero flopped to the ground like a rag doll, unable to move anything but his mouth.

You focused your attention on Bakugo again, waiting for him to strike. A giant blast and boom erupted to your right causing you to activate your quirk. Bakugo was a few lamp posts away from the building and you could tell by the determination in his stance that he had his eyes on the prize.

"Bring it on." You said aloud. Mina who was behind you encouragingly cheered you on.

Bakugo began to shoot explosion after explosion causing a smokescreen to envelop him. Smart move. You acknowledged his skill. It wasn't too shabby. The explosion didn't stop, though Bakugo set them off at random times. You couldn't see if he was walking towards you or still standing in the same spot so you needed to enhance your vision. You channeled all your energy into your eyes, searching for Bakugo. Pain pricked at your eyes, but you forced yourself to strengthen your quirk to make the smoke appear nonexistent to you. For your eyes the smoke began to become a clear haze, allowing you to finally hone into Bakugo's location. He was stealthy walking towards the building while shooting blasts all around him to confuse you.

"What a smart little cookie." You snickered because it was game over for Team Blue. You locked in Bakugo's position and with no haste you pulled the trigger. "Bang." Bakugo was swaying before he quickly went limp.

You deactivated your quirk but were hit with a wave of pain in your eyes. It seared and burned, your vision was fading in and out of blurriness and darkness. You heard Aizawa announce, "Red team wins!" You got up trying to feel your way around, only to stumble and trip over air, falling to the ground.

"Y/N are you okay?" Mina asked, getting up from her chair to walk over to you. You didn't respond.

"Are you alright Y/N, what's wrong?" Mina was visibly worried and her voice was beginning to shake. She picked you up and placed you against the wall. She started to call out for Mr. Aizawa or anyone who was outside the building.

"I can't see." You said. The pain from your eyes created a terrible migraine and you couldn't process what Mina was saying. You rubbed your eyes, only to hiss with pain. "Very blurry eyes. Eyes eyes eyes." You mumbled incoherently. You were swaying as you tried to stand and the pain from slipping from blurry to complete blindness only worsened the headache.

You heard footsteps running up the stairs coming closer. Your vision became blurry again and you could make out Iida, Kirishima, and Mr. Aizawa, rushing to your side. Mr. Aizawa pushed Mina behind him so he could examine you. You thought he was asking you questions, but quickly learned you couldn't say anything beneficial. he asked Mina what happened, but all she could say was "I don't know."

"Shit." You cursed as the pain made you do a double-take and your vision went back to darkness. "I can't see." That was the last thing you said before you woke up in the infirmary.
