You woke up feeling like crap. It was no surprise, you just really really hoped you would feel somewhat better. Your bruises were more pigmented, your scratches had scabs, and your muscles ached. You wanted to sink into your mattress and float away peacefully, but Denki's rave about breakfast enticed you to get your ass out of bed.
You lugged yourself up, and trudged to the bathroom, not bothering to close the door. You brushed your teeth lazily, toothpaste foaming and running down your chin. You washed your face next and combed your hair, just trying to look presentable.
The next step was your eye routine. Took too goddamn long. You internally complained. Nevertheless you grabbed the eye drops and let them fall onto your eyeballs. You blinked, allowing them to fall smoothly in and blindly patted and felt for the lasermabob. When you found it, you pressed the button in its rear, titled your head up to the ceiling and placed it to your eye and let the flickering lights do its job. You laid down in the shower, perching your head on the edge of the tub. It was a little awkward, but it allowed you to rest while the machine did its job.
The flickering lights help to strengthen your pupil and iris and relieve the stress your cornea feels. The lights paired with the eye drops help keep your vision clear throughout the day, making it easier to see far and close objects without having to strain your eyes too much. You kept the laser on each eye for 10 minutes each. It was a long time and sometimes it got annoying having the constant flashing of the lights and whirring and humming of the machine. But you needed to do it.
Towards the end of your right eye's treatment you heard shuffling in the doorway. "Can I help you?" You asked. "I cannot move right now so if you need to use the bathroom please go outside unless it's Mina."
"It's me." Iida said groggily.
"Oh." Was all you said.
"What's on your eye?" He asked.
"I call this fabulous device my fixer upper." You kept staring up at the ceiling but looked more in his direction. "Fun fact, it plucks out my eyeballs. The more you know." You peered over at him through your free left eye and giggled.
His contorted between confusion and horror, contemplating if you were lying or not. "That sounds wonderful."
"Indeed it is." You switched eyes and began the process again. "What do you need?" You asked.
"Uh, Mina told me to tell you that breakfast in fifteen minutes and after the lessons with Suzume we're going to hangout at the lake and other fun stuff."
You groaned. "Tell her I'll be late to breakfast. This thing is gonna take another nine minutes."
"Okay." Iida leaned against the doorway, deciding if he was going out or staying in. "Want me to stay and wait for you?" He asked innocently.
"No." You said flatly. "Now shoo shoo."
****
You were late for breakfast and made no effort of a grande nor stylish entrance. Your goal was to eat before the lessons.
You scarfed down two plates of scrambled eggs, over generously coated in pepper, hash browns, and some waffles with powdered sugar. You chugged two glasses of orange juice with two advils for your body aches and claimed: "Today is my day!"
Kirishima looked at you with concern, patting your shoulder and asking how hard you hit your head on the tree? Bakugo to Kirishima's right, paid your antics no mind has he contently leaned into his cereal bowl listening to the snap, crackle, and popping of his cereal. He cracked a small smile, which Denki, to his left, poked Bakugo's cheek in concern.
