Iida and Izuku rushed over to Kirishima, who panted gruffly. He was gripping his stomach closed, trying to stop more blood from escaping. Izuku rushed immediately to Kirshima's side to check vitals and reassure him everything was okay.

Iida brows scrunched with worry, seeing his friend's contorted face who was holding back tears. "What happened?" Kirshima explained about the beginning of the attack and their decision to split up the fight. He told Iida through whimpers of pain about the earth villain clawing at him, creating the horrid gash on his stomach.

"What about Y/N?" Iida asked anxiously. He sweated profusely, as his mind kept getting drawn back to your flailing body.

"She-" Kirishima paused to suck in a breath, "She took on the slime villain. She- she had arrows that could harden it for some time. They started to become less effective though, so she activated her Seer quirk to find a weak spot. When she did, she must have blacked out from the pain because one minute she was standing and the next minute she was on the floor." Kirishima heaved and slumped against Izuku's cradle.

Iida couldn't control his anger. "Why weren't you helping her?!" He gripped Kirishima's arms violently.

Kirishima winced. "I had to work with Bakugou. My quirk was practically useless against the ooey-gooey villain." Through his pained face he tried to look angry at Iida. "If you're so worried why don't you go get her. Bakugo's too busy and I'm useless at the moment." Kirishima pushed himself weakly out of Izuku's arms. "M'dor...ya," he slurred, "go help Bakugou... please."  Izuku rushed to Bakugo's aid and Iida turned to face you.

Iida saw your limp body swinging from Mr. Ooey-Gooey and a switch flipped inside. His eyes turned cold and his reason dissipated. "Put her the fuck down. Now." He stared daggers at the villain, fists balling up threateningly.

"No, I don't think I will." The villain taunted. "She's too fun to put down." He waved your unconscious body from side to side like a doll.

Iida's body shook with rage, he could see the blood dripping from your head and your bruised face, and that only fueled his bloodlust. He took several bold steps forward, which turned into a determined run. "I said," Iida screamed deafeningly, "put her the fuck down!"

He charged heart first and mind last at the villain, picking up more speed with each second. He lunged at the hand that held you, his quick reflexes helped him grab your wrist and tug you free from the sticky hand. He cradled you as he landed,  knees locking at the awkward angle. He winced slightly but ran you to safety, next to Kirishima.

He lay you so you rested against the wall, his hand gently laying your slumped head against the wall. His calloused fingers brushed wisps of hair out of your beaten face. His eyes softened as he looked you over. Iida was still scared shitless, wondering if you would wake up soon or in a few days. He hoped it was soon.

Iida could see veins pulsing on your forehead and your eyelids were turning an alarming shade of reddish purple. He wanted so badly to stay beside you and watch over you until help arrived, but Bakugo stopped that from happening.

"Iida, we could use your help over here!" He called as the earth villain slammed its fists into a support beam, causing the second floor caving slightly.

He hesitantly looked back at your slumped form, and regretfully went to aid Bakugou at the earth villain who was advancing closer towards the center of the mall, and unbeknownst to your distracted classmates, near Kirishima and you.

Izuku turned his attention to Mr. Ooey-Gooey, trying to force the villain back a few feet and away from civilians fearfully locking themselves inside shops. Bakugou was running out of steam, stopping his repeated punches, and opted for small breaks in between mild punches. Iida kicked and ran with all his might, trying to draw the villain's attention away from destroying the mall, offering himself as bait.

The tactic worked for a little bit, until Kirishima hoarsely shouted, "I managed to get a hold of Aizawa. He's coming now!" This snapped the earth's villainss attention to the pale and shivering Kirishima, with blood pooling around him. Your unconscious body lay a few feet to Kirishima's left, but you weren't the villain's target, loud mouth Kirishima was.

"What a loud mouth little prick." He insulted Kirishima. "I should've shut you up sooner." He knocked down a large column and swung it at Kirishima, who was too weak to move. With a thunderous boom the debris slammed into Kirishima, a deafening snap echoed through the shocked and now silent mall.

Kirishima was buried underneath a pile of broken rubble, only a few tuffs of red hair were visible amongst the dust. Bakugou hurtled himself towards Kirishima, crying hoarsely as he collapsed to his knees, desperately raking and throwing pieces of rubble over his shoulder, trying to dig up Kirishima. "Please." He murmured over and over, his voice getting stuck in his throat.

Aizawa and Present Mic burst through the gigantic hole in the mall's wall, and hastily got to work tying down and securing the villains. Izuku and Iida ran over  to where Bakugou knelt, choking backs sobs as he pawed at the rubble, trying to get to Kirishima. Iida ran to you and pulled you softly into his arms, picking you up and holding you close. You were cold, but not dead cold, which put his mind slightly at ease.

Mic hurried over, assessing your condition quickly before moving towards Kirishima, calling Aizawa over to help unbury the student. Izuku pried Bakugou away from the pile of rocks, earning himself a scolding and loud swearing. Bakugou was stricken deeply with guilt, just as Iida was as he held you close.

Emergency medical teams were on their way to bring both you and Kirishima back to U.A to be assessed and healed by Recovery Girl. Aizawa tried his best to comfort his students. Though his lack of apathy made it difficult to be there the way his students needed him. "They'll be fine. They are in good hands, I promise you."

"Can't promise shit Mr. Aizawa." Bakugo spat. He shoved Izuku off his back, who was trying his best to comfort Bakugou with a pat.

"I know." Aizawa said solemnly. "We can hope though."

Bakugou scoffed, but stayed silent. Iida dragged his feet as his head hung low. He couldn't shake how cold you felt, how heavy you were as he picked you up. It wasn't how your body should be; cold, heavy, and lifeless. It should be warm and weightless, full of your energy that lit up the room. He felt miserable and all he could do was hope. Hope that when you got back to Recovery Girl she would patch you up and send you on your way. Hope that maybe, just maybe, he could see that smile that lit his world.

What hurt Iida the most was just now realizing what you meant to him. Why now? Why now when you couldn't even tease him about how silly it sounded. He cracked a faint smile, knowing you would beat him up over mentioning the word date. It didn't cure his sadness, but it eased it a little.
