You hated surprises. Mainly because you always wanted to know what was going on or where you were headed. So when Iida had mentioned to you that he had a surprise you were reluctant to want to go. Another reason you hated surprises was that it doesn't just involve two people. Sometimes it's a whole crowd.

"Are we there yet?" You bugged Iida. "Where are we going?"

"You will see when we get there. Be patient."

     "Are we closer?"

"We will get there when we get there." You could tell Iida's buttons were wearing down and his impatience was on the rise.

Most of the drive was mainly music and silence, until he made you put a blindfold on at some point. You protested, complaining about being "left out," but it made your gut feel like you were getting closer to the destination. "Are we there yet?"

"We're getting closer and closer each time you ask Y/N."

"Give me an estimate of time."

"Uh I don't know, maybe 30 or so minutes. I might make it longer if you don't stop asking me if we are close."

You huffed. "Fine." You faced him, well with the blindfold you faced in his general direction. "But we have been in this car for hours."

"By the time we get there it should be precisely three hours. And they will be worth it."

     "How do you know?"

"I just do." Iida sounded certain.

"I hate surprise dates." You complained.

"I'm sure once we get there you won't be saying that."

"What's waiting for us when we get there?" Bothering Iida was still your favorite pastime, even if you guys were dating.

"You'll see when we get there." Iida said for the millionth time through gritted teeth.

"Are we there yet?" You pulled on his thinning thread of patience.

"When we get there you will see." Iida sounded like a dad on a road trip that was asked by five different kids how close they are. "When we get there you will see and you will like it because if you don't my ear drums will have exploded for nothing."

You laughed. You moved your mouth to ask again, just to test your luck and his patience, but he stopped you with a stern finger raised to your lips. "Not a single question is to come out of your mouth for the next 10 minutes or we are not going."

"I won't be disappointed because I don't know what the plan is." You retaliated.

"If you ask one more time I will tell you as we turn around and enjoy myself as you protest to head back, so I suggest you wait and see."

"Okie dokie." You decided to test your patience. "Are we there yet?" You whispered under your breath. Whether Iida heard it or not you didn't know, so you decided to ask him later.

Finally the care halted to a stop. "Don't take it off yet." He warned. "I'll tell you when you can."

When the blindfold slipped off your eyes, your eyes bugged out in awe. A giant building adorned the sign: The Kyoto Aquarium. Iida took you to an aquarium. You were at a loss for words. A three hour car ride just to go to what has got to be your favorite place on earth.

You started to jump up and down and teeter back and forth in a circle chanting, "fish fish fish fish."

"So I'm guessing that you're glad I didn't turn the car around after your last 'are we there yet'"?
