August 9th,
The guys pulled up at the house; Keaton had been wearing a red pullover jacket, his hair was damp, and his face looked lost. Tre followed me into the kitchen, but Keaton went into the bathroom for a moment. Something about him just seemed off but I couldn't put my finger on it quite yet. He was quieter than his usual loud entrances, and his face looked concerned. I couldn't pick up on his thoughts, it's like he was whispering to himself.
Trying to think of something else, I went to the most toxic memory I had. Tre and I sat down and I started telling Tre about the time Giselle got up and sang at my party. The memory never got old, I couldn't get enough the sweet sound of her voice. I laughed telling him how all the girls just copied and pasted her ambition, that's when Keaton came out of the bathroom, and then Capri walked inside the house, so I decided to get a freezing cold bottle of Patron and start the party. Before I could finish pouring Keaton ran up and swiped a drink from the table.
Pouring the last little drops in the last shot glass my hands began to get shaky. I felt a vision coming on so I told Tre and Keaton to grab another bottle of Patron from the garage, and Capri and I ran upstairs. I just hoped we had enough time before they began to wonder.
Capri's hands collided with mine, and a huge spark flashed across my room. First, I listened to Keaton's thoughts, sitting at the party staring at the Naiad. He admired every aspect of her, even her darkness. Similar to how I once felt for Ell.
Next, I saw Tre and Keaton sitting at the azlynn river, as a naiad emerges from the waters, and in that moment so many mysteries are revealed.
In a quick flash, that's all changed to a vision of Keaton, and Anthesa standing at the top of the tallest hill in this town. Both seemed so happy, calm, and reassured. Tre emerged from the back with a family of Aurae, and he had been the leader. A sense of peace and security overcame me viewing the last pieces of my visions. Then it all ended, that's what I could get.
Then Capri laughed, "So, we're not witches. Were just seers. So, like we see stuff."
Keaton started to walk out the door as I mumbled out "we see the future in the light, the only reason that you see the light, is because this story tells something about you. You don't perceive the future because our abilities have been passed down from generation to generation from three families of seers, Veda(Aveiro Veda), then Augur, and Sibyl. Were not casting a fucking spell on you."
"We got a feeling about this place, that's why we moved in last year. We thought it was safer to keep it to ourselves, but we didn't really worry about when the next vision would come. We didn't think we moved here because of you. It's the most normal I've felt in a while. I know your next question is probably about what we saw, but Keaton I suppose it's best you figure the mystery out for yourself. You're going to have to listen to your gut," Capri sighed.
"If it's about Nova, spit it out. He doesn't need this dragging at his ankles. He's let this girl weigh him down for too fucking long. If it helps him move on, tell him now. Get it over with," Tre complained.
"It's not about Nova, it's about Anthesa. The girl you were watching at the party. I could hear your thoughts. There's a reason you're drawn to her, there isn't a coincidence. You're supposed to figure out Keaton. Find the missing puzzle pieces, it's that simple," Capri promised.
"Anthesa," Keaton replied confused," why me, why her? What is this? I haven't even talked to her. I can just feel her pain. I see it in her eyes, it's the look in Tre's eyes, it's the pressure I felt with nova. When I was at that party looking at her, I couldn't breathe. I overheard her at the party talking to her friends, and she was complaining that she had to restart but didn't have a place to begin. It was vague but I understood, or I just related it to how I felt with Nova. Whatever it was, it made me wanna help. There was desperation in her voice, but it was also like she was tired,"
He had it all wrong, I just shook my head. What could I possibly say to make them understand?
" What about Tre? He saw the lights, so there's more. It's not just about me and a girl is it? It's about something deeper, so why can't you just tell me?" Keaton shouted.
"Tre has secrets, secrets that he doesn't even know he has, but at least one friend won't see your life play out before you live it. Believe me, I'd give away this gift to anyone who wanted it. I hate this gift, but my abilities help people. You have to understand that Keaton. There is a lot to be excited about for you two, but you can't tell anyone. This is our life. The moment you start running your mouth is the moment we have 100 scientists at our door trying to swoop me and Pri up into some lab. The only thing I can tell you is, go to the river. Both of you, if you want to know so badly. The true mystery isn't what you think. You wouldn't believe it if I told you either," I started ranting out.
Tre just sighed as the sweat dribbled off his face. He walked downstairs. I could hear his footsteps creaking through the hallway, then as they stopped for a moment you could hear Tre opening the garage, and a sound of clashing glasses. "guess he found the alcohol, come on," Keaton walked out ready to party.
