I headed back to the medical center after having a slight detour from Zealand. When I arrived, Jensen and Nai were both on lunch break so I went up to Keaton's bed to check his charts. Everything seemed okay, but he was still out of it.

He laid there with untamed hair, dried blood on his face, and a swollen eye. Beeping from a million machines played as background noise. Just by being here in Azlynn, the magic is drawn to his injuries trying to find a way to soothe Keaton from all his pain.

In most cases, people would die, or their heads could be blown off, but Azlynn let him live. Nothing would have his back better than the naiad butters, especially since he was human. Of course, if his mind were possessed the butters would double his pain, but Keaton was clear of mind breakers.

I stood there just looking at him for a moment. When lani came up behind me and whispered, "He's stronger than we anticipated, his breathing is shallow, but he's expected to wake by tomorrow afternoon." She hugged me from behind, and I felt her hand slip a small object into the side of my skirt.

I quickly stepped outside, then grabbed the crinkled-up leaf left in my waistband. Written on it was the word "Aurae" and immediately I knew I needed to get to Naomi and Zahir.

Similar to naiad nymphs, Aurae Nymphs have a variety of powers. Zahir and Naomi have slight differences in their powers than us naiads. Naomi is there to bless our first breath. Zahir, to guide souls during their last breaths.

I teleported to Tion's Rose Quartz cave at the start of the naiad river. The Rosey crystal cave gleamed as the sunlight danced around each wall, lighting it luxuriously. I could figure out everything here.

I called for Tion, and he met me at the entrance guiding me to where the library was at. We walked down the entrance clanking our feet against the crystal floors until we were faced with a large rose quarts door. Once we walked in, I felt a gust of wind rush down my back.

Tion walked over to an almost empty shelf, rubbing his fingers down the gritty oak wood then grabbed four books, all with the same purple leather binding, the cover filled with clouds drawn in gold ink, the only difference between the four was the color of the pages.

The first book with white pages represents the purity of aurae, the second with soft mint green pages illustrating tranquility, the third with pages blue as the sky symbolizing peace, the fourth portrays their spirituality with the same lilac as the leather cover.

An Aurae holds the power of the air. Carried across by a slight breeze, they're there through every breath we take. Always there but never seen, and only one with logical thinking could find one.

Naomi and zahir live in between, navigating lost mortal spirits to their new intention. We call this reincarnation, each soul goes through 8 lives until their final peace is made.

Sometimes souls become lost, warped, often very malicious resulting in mental disorders like schizophrenia, OCD, and paranoia in the next life. Sometimes Aurae punish demonic souls by reincarnating them in the insect, or animal realms. This was to teach them a lesson, also a reason why Aurae are respected and worshiped by all naiad nymphs.

They had an unconditional influence on the spiritual realm, able to breathe the life into any being, they could feel, and think, just as you did, they survived with you throughout every experience, while not there at all. In your last breaths, auare will be there to also to guide your soul to the next being.

I caressed the structure of the clouds across book one, feeling the indentations, and blemishes from all the past years. On this story laid a thousand invisible fingerprints, from a thousand naiad's studying aurae nymphs. I took a deep breath into the Azlynn atmosphere, then opened the book. I sat there for what seemed to be hours, analyzing each word, soaking up every bit of information.
