The clicking sounds of heels grew closer, and all the vampires began to smile showing a thousand pairs of blood coated fangs. I finally grew the courage, to push back the whole crowd, placing myself in-front of all my friends.
A woman, dressed in all black ripped jeans, a midnight black lace crop top, paired with a red denim jacket, and blood red heals stood in front of us all. Her tanned skin gleamed in the candle light, and for a person not too interested in Keaton, his twin impressed us all including me.
"Oh! It can't be..... you truly can't be so naive. Naiad blood? My favorite..... in fact it's all our favorites," Keaton's sister began to laugh sinisterly.
"No! We are only here for what is ours! If you just so happen to drool the wrong way, I will slash your throat," Kenai screamed back stepping beside me, and in front of Keaton, with his fists balled up.
He was ready for battle, practically steaming with rage. He concealed all fear, being the most brave of all. Then the beautiful vampire smiled,"Lucky for you, I'm feeling quite clear headed. I make no promises for your safety, for I might be full, but my clan could be starving."
Sitting right upon her neck was a teal dragonfly key, dangling against a black chain.
"There is is! That's the Veda brother's key," I called out pointing at the necklace.
A group of vampires that had been circled around the table, hissed showing me their disgusting teeth, and one in specific began to crawl towards us all. Her hair was bright red, and her skin was pale white. There was no shadow to follow her, then the wicked beast let out a loud growl and ripped her pale yellow dress to shreds, shifting into bat form darting straight for us.
"Look out! Everyone get down," Thea screamed out dropping to the ground, and holding her hands against the top of her head.
The only one who seemed to listen was Lani, because when I looked over to see Keaton Gold he was actually pissing himself. I mean, not metaphorically but actual urine dripped from his pant leg. As for kenai, he was already shooing away the insane vampire bat circling above his head. His arms flew 20 miles per hour, trying to strike the enraged beast, and during one final attempt he fell to the ground busting his shoulder.
"Calm down darling," Keaton's sister whispered walking close to the vampire bat. She held her hand out letting the bat jump in, then pulled it close giving a quick kiss before she continued," Keaton calm down, you might have my blood, but you are dead to me."
Kenai laughed back holding his shoulder close, trying to pull himself from the ground," Well, wouldn't you be dead to him."
"It is our mother that threw me to the wolves, but not even that could stop me. I was an infant child, surrounded by nature. Gaia herself called upon me, and raised me as her own. Giving me the name Journey. She taught me a few tricks about the wild, until one day I became the wild." Journey replied looking into her brothers eyes.
"Mom? She wouldn't do that,"Keaton snarled back shifting into a Jaguar.
"Your mother sweetheart. I should have killed her myself long ago..... but hey! Let's get to know each other. Never too late for my brother of course! First and foremost, I am a queen. Queen of vampire chaos, Queen of the night, and of course Queen of blood. So, what have you accomplished? King of the house? You were basic, mother wanted basic, and honestly you still seem bland,"Journey said taking the red denim jacket off, and tossing it across the cave.
"Shut up! Don't talk about her like that," Keaton growled once more.
"Oh, what? Angry to know your mother is a fake? How do you think I felt? I felt like nothing more than a beast, my own mother left me for dead. Why? She didn't want a daughter," Journey calmly replied clicking her heels against the ground headed to the the herd of vampires," I have a family now, abandoned not once, but twice, and now I am the queen everyone envies. You must be asking yourself, what happened to my second mother Gaia? The truth to that is quite simple, the bite changed me. I guess she wasn't patient enough, but father cared for me since.... well, up until the day he died."
"Father? Dads not dead," Keaton questioned holding his hands against his wet spot.
"Father Atticus," The red headed beast chanted out from behind Journey.
"Queen Mystic! The boy," Another red headed vampire screeched jumping onto the table knocking the candle over.
As I looked to see what was going on, Keaton flew past me and snatched the key from her neck, he knew he had to get it safe. Somehow he just knew how important this was. Instantly he flew out of the cave, flapping as fast as he could. The sky was painted gold with pink accents, and a small gleam of orange between.
The vampires tried to catch him, but only a few stepped into the light. After seeing the blistering light chap their skin into a steamy smoking mess once, then twice, everyone knew best. It took a 8 vampires to pull in one, and they did it carelessly by her feet, they slung her around like a rag doll. Yet, she was almost dead.
The other, was dead. The vampires didn't get her out of the light in time. Plus she had ventured too far from the cave, knowing the harmful effects the sunlight. She lied there as everyone watched her shrivel up to nothing more than caramel colored hair, and a black leather dress.
No one would dare step out with the sun this bright, but with Gaia's ring, and with the sun, we had a full fighting chance. If I knew one thing, no vampire would be biting me today. Kenai stood beside Lani, and Lani beside me with Thea in front of her.
"It is almost resting time, and perhaps my brother has already did enough harm. You have your stupid key, what else more do you seek? The lives of innocent vampires, that have done no harm. Blood, yes, dripping from their fangs, but none of it is yours," Journey walked down the hall saying before closing some loud door in the distance.
"Journey! This is not the end! We have not come here for just one key, perhaps you have forgotten, there are more keys." Kenai screamed as loud as he possibly could, his voice echoed a thousand times. Each time, the vampires gasped hearing the repeated "Journey..... Journey....Journey...."
"She's coming! God, you seer's are so ignorant," Called out blonde vampire dressed in an all red satin dress that flowed to her feet. It was strapless, with onyx gems sewed along the waist, with a slit exposing her full left leg.
"Queen Mystic," A man, with chocolate hair, no more than 30, murmured, hearing the door creek open slowly.
