His heart was racing. Had his son really just done that? But... why didn't he give him up as well? He did the same thing as his wife, so why hadn't the little boy he had poorly raised give him up to the officials as well? Glancing down at the boy beside him, the man could only feel confusion, yet a little bit of pride mixed in as well.

"Come, Zeke. We'll find a better place to live," the father said to the seven-year-old beside him as he walked on. After seeing what would happen to his wife, Dina, he knew he had to get out of there. Leave the restorationists, they didn't need him.

"Coming!" the little blonde, Zeke, called as he raced after his father, quickly matching his speed to that of the older man's. No, the restorationists could do without him. At least for right now. His main priority now was getting out of Marley and getting across the sea to Paradis where his old friend was waiting for him and his son. Soon the two made it to the docks and were able to sneak onto a ship. Grisha knew that he and his son would make it to Paradis in due course, and when they did it was up to his friend for this to succeed.

Eventually they docked at the Island of Paradis. Once they did, Grisha grabbed Zeke, ran towards the dunes, and continued to run until he couldn't see the wall anymore. He knew that Dina was on that wall behind him and his son and knew that she probably saw them running towards their freedom whilst she had to suffer. But in that moment, Grisha could care less; he was alive, and she was about to be deceased. Why did it matter whether he cared or not? It didn't, and it never would. Once they were well past the sand dunes and near the walls that protected the people of Paradis from the rest of the world, the brunette adult made it to one of the gates where a scout was seen. Once he was near the gates, he gently set his son down from where he was carrying him on his back.

"What are you doing out here?" the scout exclaimed, looking at the two. He noticed immediately that Grisha was protecting a kid who looked to be related to him. Was he the man's younger brother? The scout thought. No, the kid's far too young. Is he the man's son? "Who are you two? You know what, don't answer that yet. Let's get you two inside the walls and go from there. C'mon."

Grisha glanced down at Zeke who seemed slightly shaken. "Don't worry, Zeke. We're safe now." He comforted, following the scout to the comfort of inside the walls. Zeke took one glance behind him before rushing into the walls behind his father. It was safer this way anyway.

About an hour later the trio settled down at a table in a tavern, Zeke sticking close to his father. "So," the scout started. "How about introductions, hm? I'm Erwin and I'm a scout, though I'm guessing you already knew that by the look on your face."

"Indeed," Grisha replied, keeping an eye on the little blonde boy beside him. "I'm Grisha, and this is my son, Zeke. I don't really remember much of my past, though I do remember a lot when it comes to him."

"I see," Erwin murmured, looking down at the boy beside the brunette, Zeke. He seems like a good kid, the man pondered before turning his attention back to Grisha. "We'll need to find a place for you two to stay, though I'm sure we can find somewhere."

"T-Thank you," Zeke thanked shyly, Erwin giving a soft chuckle before ruffling the boy's hair. That's when a beautiful woman came over to their table; she had dark brown hair, fair skin, and the most gorgeous hazel eyes you'd ever look upon.

"Erwin, you better not be trying to get this one to join the scouts." The woman scolded lightly. "You always tend to do that."

Erwin gave a gentle chuckle, shaking his head. "No worries, Carla. I wasn't trying to. Besides, Grisha doesn't even remember his past yet remembers his son, Zeke." Zeke gave a shy wave whilst Grisha smiled softly at the woman before him.
