Erwin looked around, knowing the emotional state a certain fifteen-year-old brunette was in and how it would be after the betrayal of Reiner and Bertholdt. He had to find him and quick. After an hour of searching, he finally found him crouched by the edge of the wall with a look on his face that Erwin had seen far too much for a fifteen-year-old boy. "Eren!" he called as he jogged over to the boy and kneeled down next to him as the brunette looked up at him with tears in his tropical blue eyes and a look of surprise on his face. "It's okay. Don't be surprised. Betrayal never comes from a stranger."

Eren looked down, moving to sit with his knees pulled to his chest. "But they were my friends," he whispered, eyes screwed tightly shut. Erwin sighed sadly, pulling the boy close to him since he knew just how close those three had been.

"Betrayal never comes from an enemy either." He murmured gently, soothing the boy as he sobbed. Erwin didn't understand; if those three were so close, why did Reiner and Bertholdt betray them? He may never receive that answer, but he doesn't think he would want to receive it anyway. It may just break Eren more since he'd have to share it with him, and he couldn't be the reason why Eren was more broken than he already was. "Let's go home." Eren nodded and together, along with many from their squad, they headed home.

Upon arriving back to the castle, it was as if Eren had shut down. He didn't talk to anyone, barely ate, barely drank, and barely slept. Erwin knew that Eren was grieving in a sense and wondered whether or not Reiner and Bertholdt would still have done what they did if they could see Eren's condition right now. "Hey bud," Erwin smiled softly as the teenager entered his office, Levi following close behind him. the boy merely blinked at him, Erwin's heart breaking. Knowing that the boy just needed a reassuring hug, Erwin opened his arms and watched as Eren dived into them, sobbing his poor little heart out. "Shh, I know. I know, bud. But hey, you've got all of us, yeah?" Nodding, the boy snuggled into the grandfather-figure as Levi let loose one of his rare smiles at the scene.

"All he needed was a hug," whispered the ravenette as Erwin traded the now sleeping boy over to him, watching him cradle him as if he were a mere baby. "I'll take him to your room if you want." Erwin nodded and watched the two leave, knowing in his heart that Eren would recover from this.
